What a cool name. In fact, loads of the youth team have cool names. Hope they become regular first teamers, for how cool they all sound if nothing else.
Vimal Yoganathan in particular. Always showing for the ball, always trying to go forward, very composed on the ball, and likes a tackle.
I've quite enjoyed this, more than I thought I would. I like that we've fielded players on the edge of the first team and kids though, because it's so rare that I get to see them. Not sure I'd have liked it as much if we'd put out something more like our first choice team. The fact that a barnsley team composed mostly of our kids look so good against the all star u21s of Manchester City is encouraging though, and will surely give them a big confidence boost.
One thing I've only just realised is the points system. You get 1 point for a draw, as usual, but then another point if you win the ensuing penalty shoot-out. Not a lot of people know that.
That's six wins out of the last seven games for the Reds. Going well. Let's keep that going against Blackpool.
Impressed with that tonight. Looks like we have some good young players. Future looks exciting! In the nearer future, I’m assuming Shepherd will be in for Lopata (if out injured) on Saturday given he only had 45 minutes.
