We were near the Ponty end of the Brewery stand about half way from the front. Got a pretty good few of the goal from there.
I was half way up the Ponty End and somewhere near the front by the time the goal celebrations had subsided lol. What a night…..what a team.
Let's face it. Our second string team, with a few fringe players from the first team was better than theirs. Only saw the first half, as iPlayer crashed, but highlights show we gave them a proper game. A bit more composure & it could have been 5-1. Good the defence did OK vs some talented players. With Billy Kaspa out we need someone to step up. Mael would be my guess, who looked composed & was playing in the middle.

And me. Mi dad queued up for the tickets the week before and the Ponty had sold out. I lived in Cambridge at the time so drove up straight after work with my mate Andy, a City fan who stood in the Brewery stand with us.
The ground was full to bustin that night. I can’t recall what the official gate was but it’s got to be the biggest crowd I’ve ever been in down at Oakwell
I that thought it was there or there about’s. Seem to remember that there was much speculation at the time that it was actually greater than the official figure.
