Not there today as I’m away on holiday but that line up worried me as soon as I saw it. Smacks of him trying to put his own stamp on things where he doesn’t need to. Baffled why Shepherd got dropped and where are Phillips and Benson? Strange game to blood someone like Chapman from the start.
Soon as that rain touched young Herberts head he mentally signed out of the game. Just not arsed today him.
I'm watching on iFollow and it's the most passes along the backline I've ever seen. Even if we get it into midfield, Kane passes it straight back to a defender. Either we have no movement in midfield or Blackpool are plugging the gaps very well. Or a bit of both.
Worst half of football I’ve seen for a while. First game at home and we don’t attack. The manager got this wrong needs changes at half time. Okeefe and Chapman off pace by at least a yard!
People said this line up could go either way. It's gone the wrong way. All over the place, no apparent plan I can see and players who look like they've just never played together.
ok then Albert Einstein, would you like to give us your ‘insight’ into how you assess this team’s attacking prowess considering every game played and the vast majority of performances we’ve seen? The point is valid. We aren’t very good going forward and won’t score enough, at least on current form, to cover for the defensive inadequacies. It’s all well and good holding onto the fact we are currently top scorers in the league, due in the majority to one game in which everything went our way and we scored seven - when the evidence from pretty much every game since shows that game to have been nothing like an indication of the team’s actual attacking prowess. Does your insight suggest we’ll be top scorers at Christmas? In another three or four games even? I’d also add that we’ve conceded more goals than half of the teams in the bottom half of the table, and the only team in the top half to have conceded more are - predictably - Port Vale.
I can't see us turning this around tbh, and Blacky aren't even one of the better teams are they. I hope they prove me wrong!.
Yeah, we’re not as bad as some of the dross in the league. Every time we’ve played anyone of any pedigree, we’ve been sh.ite
Bring on Shepherd and Cadden , we've no threat down the left, at least Shepherd looks for a forward pass
Nowt of a match, like I've seen a million times before, but for whatever reason, O'Keeffe decided to slide in from about 20 yards away in a desperate attempt to commit a foul inside the box. Nuts. I've no problem with that decision by the ref, it was a clear penalty. However, I do think there have been several fouls on Barnsley players, particularly on Styles, that the the ref has let go.
Collins has got a very good squad of players for this league yet we've struggled against any half decent team. I don't think the board would be telling him to pick loan players that they can't sell.
McCart always looks for the forward pass, only problem is he is consistently mixing up ambition with ability.
We might well come back to win, I hope we do. Doesn’t lessen the fact that there appears to be no shape or plan, no attacking intent and yet plenty of defensive frailty in near enough every fixture. Three points today wouldn’t change that fact. Nor should that be allowed to paper over the cracks if it did happen. There are issues here that need addressing. Port Vale aside I’m not sure we’ve played well. In any game. And even in that game we might well have been two or three down before we scored.
I thought the same. Can't even work out what we're trying to do. Balls in over the top to Cole who appears to be playing as our sole striker aren't helping either. We must have scored most of our goals this season putting in low crosses from the wings, and yet we seem to have dropped that altogether. I wonder whether Blackpool are doing a number on us, closing down where we want to be, but my football knowledge isn't good enough to interpret the game so I'm just a bit baffled at the moment!
