A consequence of selling your better players and not retaining ya better loan players and losing ya Manager is that too many are trying to learn on the job. the games come thick and fast and players who look great today look average the game after. todays formation may win nxt week, who knos. and as said previously we won't bring in a Manager who wants a say in running the club....so this is what we've got.
We have been better off appointing Phil Collins at least it would be entertaining Neill is as dull as I've seen.
I honestly think some of our fans are on the wind up. We are 7th in the league. The new manager has not been able to play our best midfielder all season and has a new starting back 3. we are doing okay. Today wasn’t amazing but we could easily have drawn or even won if we’d had a bit of luck with decisions or play in the final third. I genuinely think some people are just trolling!
I thought our back 3 looked good today and was pleased for Mael, you've got to remember that we're at the beginning of our development cycle regarding centre halves.
This post is just as likely a troll post as those calling for change. Today was absolutely dreadful. Not one shot on target, at home. Against an average team with zero ambition to try to extend the lead we gifted to them. He’ll get more time you’d imagine and fair enough. But some have seen enough after ten games - and as I’ve said, given Colin is available, I think we’d be foolish to not see if he fancies it.
The back three had sod all to do all game that's why. Absolutely no attacking threat from Blackpool who parked the bus from the first minute and had one real pacey run at goal resulting in a foul and goal. The back three only saw so much of the ball because we chose to pass it around between them for the entire match.
He has a great record with his former (and only) club; and the fans there loved him. Cole is having a good season. We’ve scored a fair few goals (if not today). I think the main issue is how much we’ve weakened the defence.
Give over. Ten games is surely nowhere near enough. I’m not saying I’m overwhelmed by his performance but you have to give him time and a chance to get the team settled surely. for me as well the no shots on target thing is more a testament to their last line of defence which was excellent and our forwards having an off day than something to hang on the manager. But of course some people will have made their minds up already.
It's extremely hard to have many shots on target when the player we passed the ball to the most wears number 6 and plays at the heart of defence.
You are of course overlooking the fact we did have some decent chances it's just that the strikers couldn’t hit a barn door today.
This might seem rash, as it probably is. But I have a feeling in my gut that Collins just isn't the right man for us. His tactics are woeful and we have absolutely zero plan B. Even down to his demeanor and his voice. I'm never enthused by him. I just get the feeling that he himself feels like he's out of his depth. I'm not a "knee-jerk" kind of guy, but I can't see how we progress with Collins. The amount of sideways and backwards passing is getting beyond a joke, the amount of possession we had today and didn'r manage a shot on target is criminal. People will say that we're creating chances, and we are, but the build-up is far too slow and it gives the opposition time to set. If I could choose, I'd get Warnock in, I honestly would. We're never going to get relegated, we're too good even on a bad day for that. But I can't see us in the play-offs with Collins, we look clueless when we play anyone with an ounce of ability.
No. Not Mick McCarthy or Danny Wilson. Neil Warnock. The same one who kept a woeful Huddersfield team up in the championship last season when it looked like they were certs to be relegated. The one who has a very recent record of being a top drawer football league manager and getting the best out of what he has. That one. Lol …
Easier to keep a.team up than get one promoted. Who was the last team he got promoted? There was loads of options when we approached Collins but we went for one who had never managed in England before and he's looking clueless.
