Imho we probably had 4 penalty shouts....2 were worthy of further scrutiny. Thought Douglas could and should have walked (2 bookings) and 2 or 3 other dodgies
He was going to book Douglas again then realised he was already booked and took his hand away from his pocket. No complaints about their pen but what do we need to do to get one?
He was one of the better refs I’ve seen this season. It wasn’t easy for him cos of Blackpool’s constant pushing and niggly fouls. He waved away half a dozen of their dives, when every other ref this season would have blown, but he also ignored a lot of their pushing. I only saw one clear cut penalty we didn’t get, and that was the two handed push on Cosgrove. They were lucky to finish with 10 on the pitch, never mind all 11. Dougall should have gone, as should their number 3. In fact, the ref was going for a second yellow for Dougall, until he realised he’d have to then show a red.
Not sure can say one of the better refs when he ducked key decisions. The no 6 should have been on a yellow for high foot in the stomach before he had the chance to haul back Cole. Blatant handball overlooked in both areas never mind the cosgrove one. Gave loads of non fouls.
It isn’t necessarily a comment about how ‘good’ today’s has been, more that the others set a very low bar
The ref was shocking. Not because of his poor decisions but his positioning. Constantly getting in the way of play. If he can't get that right he shouldn't be a professional referee.
Woeful refereeing performance and no excuses for such a level of ineptness. As poor as I've seen for quite some time. I attribute it to him being a man.
Love it! Well, if a female referee can be criticised for being a woman, then a male one can be criticised for being male.
Opinions eh I thought he was poor two average side and he decided the outcome. Penalty was right he went to ground and player tuck the chance to go down but there was a clear foul on Williams leading up to it he had him by the throat. Dougall should have gone the second foul was just as bad as his first that got a yellow but he warned him proper bottled it. Too far away to see the hand ball claims but there was a clear two handed push on Cosgrove in the box. On more than one occasions he got in way of play but we all see different things clearly.
I was sat in ponty looking straight at penalty and i honestly thought it was a blatant dive by their player.
