What are folks’ thoughts on his performance yesterday?

to me he looks rusty but grew into the game and could be a handful once he gets going. Surely it would make sense to start him and Cole, with Cadden and Cotter instructed to get balls into the box, quickly.

this sideways passing nonsense is not only very dreary, but it is not playing to our players’ attributes. In fact it’s madness and if he persists with it he will be out of a job by Xmas

There are flashes of what we were expecting of him, but also moments where he looked totally out of place. Of the three other strikers in the first team picture, however, I would choose Cosgrove to partner Cole.

Seems very rusty. For the first 20 minutes or so he looked like the proverbial competition winner, but I reckon he'll turn out to be a very good signing. Definitely adds something different up front.

Cosgrove and Cole are obvious partners. You can see them dovetailing well together. They need a run of starts together to develop a partnership. I don’t really see McAtee offering a great deal (as a forward) he chases and harries but lacks the same ‘bite’ that Norwood had. He’s a more obvious 10 but not sure he’s good enough to change style to get the best out of him.

I like him...he's no big finisher but gives us something we don't have from the other options.
Early days yet .....still getting up to speed but we need his physicality over the rest to compliment Cole.

Iam confident Cosgrove will be a good player but he needs games not faffing about with team most weeks.

He's the [only] natural partner to get the best out of Cole. I like McAtee, but he's not a striker, best played a bit behind.

I’d like to see Cosgrove and Cole start, with McAtee in behind. Let’s be a bit more adventurous, even the games we are winning are boring me to tears at the minute.

Norwood was the same last year- took him a while to get going

Been impressed with him twice off the bench but didn’t think he played that well when he started.

I think he’ll prove to be a good signing.

Very much not impressed. But it’s early days I guess.

We need to remember he played an important role last season for a team that won the league with over 100 points. I’m certainly not writing him off.

We know the rest are babber apart from Cole, but we don't yet know whether Cosgrove is babber or not so it makes sense to find out if he's less babber than all the known babber.

Cole is babber too except at finishing

Which probably makes my post babber because net bulging is king

    Rightly so.

Be fine once he's up to speed after being left to rot by his previous club like Russell was. Let's see how he's playing for us in the when we get to November.

TBH biggest disappointment for me yesterday was Styles. Went from a world beater to very average. Not scapegoating him, as overall we were poor going forward.

It might come good next week, it is a bit up & down, but it is worrying we are losing tactical battles against the better teams.

No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater yet though. We are still in contention for top 6.

122 appearances Styles has made for us according to wikipedia not sure how many in midfield but not once have I seen him play there and ive thought he's bossed it, time for Callum to prove he's as good as he thinks he is. I think Cosgrove got to be given chance with run in the side in one week out next is no good give him and Cole a chance to build a understanding.
