Buzzing with his performance tonight, undoubtedly best he’s had for us…absolutely outstanding…capping it off with a fine goal too!!
I'd agree with that. Opposition that harry him make him ineffective. He needs to learn how to play in those types of games.
Always been a good signing. Just took a while to get up to speed, after being left to rot at his previous club. It's the same issue with Cosgrove. He will be a different player in the run up to Christmas when he gets more minutes. We just have to be patient when we sign lads who are unfit.
He will only get better with games though. I don’t think he’s had a run of games like this since Huddersfield were in the play offs a couple of seasons ago. He’s going to come up against battle hardened lads like Josh Scowen at this level who can comfortably do 90 minutes twice a week at a high fitness level on a regular basis. It’s going to take him a while to get up to that kind of fitness.
Thought Cadden was definitely MOTM, but Russell would be second for me. An excellent display and a well deserved goal - hopefully this vein of form continues!
He was great tonight but he needs to repeat it against more mobile and better sides before we can conclude how good he is. It isn’t just him getting up to better fitness levels that restricted his performances. I do worry he’s a bit of a flat track bully.
Even sweeter, as he didn’t let the idiots put him off his game. He’ll be another one who can’t wait to get away from Oakwell & I don’t fcking blame him..
Outstanding tonight...the opposition gave him plenty of time and room and he exploited that to the full. He has very good technical ability and can look a worldy....as suggested if he can do that against the better pressing teams we have a reight player...we will see. Very good tonight
On a thread somewhere, he was getting stick for being lazy. My input was that this player is paramount to getting us into the top 6 . He played that part in getting Huddersfield to the playoffs. I honestly see him being a big part player here,if we can get him to stay.
Against anyone of decent standard I still don’t think they can. Last night doesn’t change that view. Russell was great but can he do it against a side with a decent midfield themselves? That exert any level of pressure on the ball? Time will tell but he’s gone missing a few times this season. He should have played against Blackpool though, the chapman selection was crazy.
I’d hardly describe it as crazy. Kane had played the holding role well a week earlier at Cheltenham & Chapman’s looked fine when he’s had chances earlier in the season. I wasn’t as sold on him as many but I’m sure I was reading loads of people on here praising Chapman when he played in the cups & came on in the league & now all of a sudden no one seems to rate him. We didn’t even play that badly, on another day a couple of the crosses Cadden puts in get put away or we get a penalty or two. Just a frustrating game against a streetwise side where it felt like if we’d have played until midnight we wouldn’t have found the net.
