We would end up at around the 80 point mark. I do not think that would achieve automatic promotion. Would likeky be a play off place. That said I think the team are still on a learning curve with each other. Also returning injuries and the transfer window should also have an effect too. Lets hope our away form carries on in te next game, but it's gonna be a tough game.
And by the same maths Portsmouth will get 105 points....not gonna happen, theres a lot will change before we're done.
Not often you say it’s your home form that needs to improve. Must be on rello form at home and play offs away.
I think it is easier to turn home form around rather than having to start turning away form around.....if that is any consolation so to speak
After 11 games last season we had 20 points so we’ve had a similar start really. We did have a pretty disastrous October though….
It's only 1 point less than this stage last season I believe. And we lost 3 and drew 1 of the next 4 games If I'm correct. I think we're doing ok all things considered. It's a marathon not a sprint.
I think we've got 14-15 games left this year. Anything above 8-9 wins would see us on 43+ points and set us nicely up for the end of the season... (10 wins would put us near enough on 50 points)
I was promised when we did a Brexit there'd be no more poncy snickers and starburst. Just good old fashioned marathons and opal fruits
Although, unlike the Mars bar, Snickers was first manufactured by Mars in the US and was always known as Snickers (launched in 1930 and named after the Mars’ family horse) so you could argue that Snickers is its ‘real’ name. Lots of theories about why they went with Marathon in the UK, one being because they were worried Snickers was too similar to knickers! “Starburst” on the other hand was a British product and should’ve retained its original name.
I said from the start, the playoffs should be the target. Would be great to get automatic & if we keep in the top 6 by Christmas that remains a possibility. I think Pompey will take some stopping, but not massively convinced anyone else will run away with it this season. Our squad will definitely improve. Hopefully we'll get Luca back. Russell could easily play in a 3 with him, or come on after 60 minutes. There is room for optimism. There are also questions to be asked, whether Styles stays in January. Pretty sure Cole will just run down his contract, but I think Marsh & Jalo could play a big part towards the end of the season. Both have massive potential. McAtee better fronting a midfield 3 & Phillips should not be discounted. Big worry for me was the back 3. I'm not totally convinced, but think we have enough there, but it isn't the back 3 we had last season in terms of quality IMO. We need to be stronger vs the better teams.
The January window ,was a big contribution to our final place last season. This January will equally determine our final place.
I'm a bit less convinced. Could only see Styles going TBH. Think Cole will rrun his contract down, as he'll be better off as a free agent. Can't see many others in the frame for sale & we should have enough to get us over the line, maybe a loan in somewqhere if needed.
Your more confident Cole will still be here than me. Let's see where we are 1st February, then we will have a good idea where we will end up. Play offs well within our reach with the current squad . Maybe I'm not trusting the board who will be here in February.
If Cole leaves as a free agent he can get a much better deal for himself. If we sell him for £500k, or whatever, he won't get that. He can sign a pre contractual agreement in the mean time.
