I used to work with someone who had lupus, not sure if it was systemic though. Used to take a bunch of steroids and other drugs.

Horrible illness. Auto immune disease. (Gout falls into that bracket along with shingles).

I've had a call from doc to say blood tests have shown something relating to this illness. I'm shitting it, as I've been healthy as anything over the past and how something can trigger this I've no idea. I'm lost.

My wife suffers with a different auto-immune disorder. She'd always been healthy but suffered quite a bit of stress around a few life events and we think that was the cause.

Does thinking about it make it worse?

In around 10% of people, blood tests can show a positive result but people never develop any symptoms. Even if you have got symptoms, there are ways to manage it. Don’t panic until you’ve had a proper talk with your doctor, who will probably want to run more tests.

Good advice. It's an auto immune disease. Stress makes it worse.

No, it doesn't. She just has random flares of symptoms or episodes.
