Until Connell is back available Russell has to start to bring balance to our midfield without him no one breaks up play.

    Roberts
McCarthy / De Gevigney / McCart
    Williams / Russell / Kane / Cadden
    Phillips
    Watters Cole

I wouldn’t be against Cosgrove starting but he’s usual to have coming on later in the game

I can honestly say I have no idea what a best XI would look like. In defence, midfield & attack we have options available to the Head Coach (even before Connell returns) now. Neither do I know what the best formation would be to play.
Probably shows why I'm such a thicko.

Russell has to absolutely start for me. Kane's better further up when Russell is on the pitch anyway

This would be mine as well, maybe with Watters in for Cosgrove. Connell in for Phillips when he's healthy.

Then I'd drop Shepherd in. I'd have to start our own over a loanee if like-for-like

All the above variations shows how hard it is and how there is little difference between those at the back in particular.
Personally - from all of the choices made on here I find it hard for folk to choose a team that doesn`t include either Williams or Styles.

Really hard to drop Phillips as his assists and goals can make a big difference.

McCart plays for the pure reason that it brings balance to the left hand side. If you have played or managed in football you realise how better it is to have 2x left footers down the left. Brings balance to the team.
