Got an old victorian(ish) door with what I think is original lock and latch - the big f.ck off box mechanism on back. It's jarred and my ability stretches to spraying loadsa WD40 on it & it hasn't worked. Anybody know anybody who'd have a look? Town.
A1 Locksmith - 07912319755 Dont know him personally so can only give a professional recommendation.. came when our lock had jammed previous and sorted it in no time, great job, amd very reasonable price. Done some similar bits for my uncle and have always been brilliant.
These were good for me recently… and they can rebuild locks. Barnsley Lock & Safe Co. 01226 203542 https://g.co/kgs/7zW6m1
Obviously if WD40 hasn't worked, the only options left are to hit it with a hammer, use duct tape on it or pour coke into it...
Trouble with jammed stopcock - used WD40 - no joy - tried again 24 hours later and success. give WD40 time!
Just to be THAT person.. shouldnt use WD40 on locks as it actually removes the grease that is needed for the mechanism to operate as it should. Should try a dry silicon lubricant or similar product really.
