I’m off to match on Friday in car fir first time, I’ve been advised to get off at J5 and park in Watford and jump on the overground there and get off at Wembley Central which is a 20 minute walk to the ground, or park at Stanmore at get the tube to Wembley Park……can anyone offer there thoughts on the above? Ta
I went for the NFL game a couple of weeks ago. Stanmore was rammed when I got there, so I drove a few miles further and parked at Pinner station instead, which had loads of space (and was free on a Sunday). Easy, direct tube run from there and got away very smoothly after the game. Harrow was another backup option, too, but not needed on the day.
Why not try yourparkingspace.co.uk and book a space on someone's drive. I did that for the play off final just around the corner from Stanmore Station - worked a treat.
On here someone put a number on for park for drives ,she donates fee to charity ,it wasn't a lot for the 0lay off final 10 minute walk from stadium
I did that for the playoff final, arrived and found a skip on the drive! Tbf I've used the app since with no problems at all, but that was a proper pain!
We used Rickmansworth for the Play Off final. Multi storey right next to the station £6 . Absolute doddle, and the best bit that we were out and away before most of the other traffic.
We parked for the day at Harrow on the Hill in May. £6. Overground to Wembley Park. Easy getaway after. Ticked all the boxes. Would recommend.
Another bonus of Rickmansworth is that there's absolutely no danger of getting your car nicked unless it's a Lamborghini. Properly posh round there!
Careful at some places down there. They just at 2.30pm, but then bizarrely open from up when the game starts at 3pm. Oh wait....
Bushey station has always had plenty of parking space when we have used it. Train in to Wembley in about 20 mins
We've parked at Harrow on the hill and got the train to Wembley: cheap parking and only about 15 mins away. don't know if the new tax ( Ulez) applies though Just looked, the Ulez charge applies
For both Wembley and London, when we go to either, we generally park at Hemel Hempstead station. Always had spaces and it's only £4 or £5 quid for the day if you park after 9am. Just the train fare to add on, I think for Wembley it's a change at Harrow and then one stop to Wembley. Piece of cake getting away, albeit a bit longer to get back to the car, but you're a fair way back up the M1 when you get on it. Have a good day on Friday.
Stanmore for us, evening games are a challenge as if you get there too early people still parked there during day, go a bit later you can usually get in but can make the trip to Wembley a bit rushed. If we are planning early arrival for evening game we go to Canon Park.
