Brilliant keeper. Best in league one? Certainly for reflexes/shot stopping surely! Large part due to a young, inexperienced defence as well obviously, but sheer quality in my opinion. And I do think the defence has improved (mostly) game on game so the stats will probably slow down in this respect Sorry if posted elsewhere
Certainly one of the best shot stoppers I’ve seen. His passing and distribution can get us into bother occasionally but if he was world class he wouldn’t be here! I’d love to see him sign permanent. I’m sure the club would too. It’s never that simple though is it?!?
Unfortunately not! And the more people/companies put out stats like this will make it even harder! Fairly certain we could make an offer now and then it'd be official on the 1st of Jan. Really hope we do it
Shows just how much our defence hasn't jelled yet and also how poor most teams in this league thankfully are at taking their chances.
Disagree with that. I think our defence has gelled incredibly well over the last few weeks. As I said I think a lot of that was at the beginning of the season when we did look real shaky hence I think that stat will slow down. Some teams have missed sitters, but the amount of unreal saves Roberts has made is brilliant. A real talent inbetween the sticks
I personally think he’s massively overrated. I can see why he doesn’t get a look in at Middlesbrough, and I honestly think he’s an average lower league goalkeeper at the very best. In a completely unrelated way, I also have a bit of a fear that writing threads that state how great our on-loan players are will either inflate the price should we wish to purchase them, or even worse that they’ll be recalled when they can be in January and either played at their parent clubs or sold to someone else …
Cambridge and Exeter had thirty shots against us between them. That's way too many still and when we play the better teams we tend to lose, partially why two are above us.
30 shots and majority with Xg of about 0.01. Stats can be manipulated anyway someone likes bud. We could have a shot from 40 yards out every time we have the ball and it'd count as a shot
It's going to take a lot of money to both get Boro to sell him and him to sign wirh us. They both know his stock is very high right now. He may already be visualising a move to a Championship club and the commensurate wages. I'm sure we're making moves to get him but I'd be surprised if we manage it. He's a good keeper though I do have a query about his ability with crosses. Not convinced about that aspect at all.
Well if he's really as rubbish and as over rated as some are suggesting... who should be our main keeper then ?.
Best in the league but that stat is worrying. He’s gonna make mistakes just like other top keepers we’ve had. The defence needs to sort itself out sooner rather than later. I appreciate the clean sheets but we really have been a one man team defensively at times this season.
It as proven that the uproar around letting 2 keepers go at the end of last season wasn't as bad as was said on this board. I hope we sign him, he as proved his quality, however if his agent touts him elsewhere, which he will be doing from now until January, and to the end of the season. As a free agent his wage demands will significantly rise. If we don't break our wage structure to sign him, there's other goalkeepers out there, like the one at Bradford City who is also out of contract. As a board ,I wouldn't want any agent holding us to ransome as he is a free agent. Look at Thomas and Kane who were signed for large sums of money ,who have ,or will walk free at the end of their contracts.
The Exeter commentators mentioned he has the highest number of on target saves in League 1, which probably highlights the current state of our defence Still a work in progress and better teams do find that out
Sure that’s what happened with Stendel? Our goal to shot ratio was awful cos we were shooting on sight often from distance at times.
