From Doug just now, good news: https://x.com/dougokane88/status/1714982880894452008?s=46&t=Kb0ck_npSQi3S0RtBaavZQ Be good to see him get minutes against Horsham or Bradford in the cup games. Edit: Can’t get tweets to embed anymore so: Good news from today’s press conference at Oakwell. Neill Collins says Luca Connell could return next month, likely to be eased back in in one of the cup games. That’s as long as everything continues to progress as it is.
I don't get why the secretiveness if it is glandular fever. Its not like it'll affect any future value. Once you have had glandular fever, it is unlikely you will develop it again, as people develop lifelong immunity after the initial infection.
Up to him though maybe he just doesn't want anyone who doesn't need to know, knowing his private medical history?
Calling off the Carlisle game for international duties . May be a good enough reason to give luca and others eg. Kacper. more time to recover and be ready for a re arrangement.
Yep, it's pretty obvious he doesnt want any disclosure. So why dont folk just respect his wishes until he's ready or not. (People are naturally curious. But sometimes it's not forthcoming. And best well left alone) I Just want to see him back running the midfield.
It can lead to longer term complications of chronic fatigue. I know one lad who was a promising athlete and swears he was never the same after having glandular fever as a teenager. He never went in for serious competition again having competed regionally.
Its good news and it will be a tough November for him to begin with. With a bit of luck though, and a bit of patience, we could have that quality player getting back to his best again, in January.
