Goldeneye really was. There's a very good documentary about it called Goldenera, worth a watch.

Can you play old PS1 games on a PS 5 and can you play old x box games on the latest x box?

Anyone know of any software that helps you design and build a game? I would love to learn how to code etc but would need something entry level.

    Brian Clough’s Football Fortunes.

Basically a board game, with a computer-generated rolling of the dice, and vidiprinter for results.

Unity is probably the standard - loads of tutorials on YouTube etc. Godot is a really good open source alternative, especially for 2D, and is what I've been playing around with. The ecosystem isn't quite as developed though.

Either way though, you might struggle without at least a bit of coding experience, just to get the hang of loops, objects etc. If you're coming in completely cold then a basic Python course is probably a good place to start - I like Colt Steele's stuff on Udemy if you don't mind paying a bit, or again there's plenty of free stuff on YouTube. Once you've got the basics of Python down then you'll pretty much be able to use gdscript, which is Godot's programming language - they're very similar.

Someone mentioned Bomberman earlier on and I concur.

Brilliant for the SNES - 4 player game, each of you in your own corner. Always a classic, when you blocked yourself in and blew your own man up.

I also adored Micro Machines. Racing these little cars round the breakfast table and the bath.

Always used to enjoy the classics like Pac-Man and Space Invaders.
The one that used to love but drove me barmy was Manic Miner and that bloody music!:p

Agree with both of these, though I played the Amiga version of Bomberman which was called Dynablaster.

My faves: Lemmings, Cannon Fodder and Beneath a Steel Sky for the Amiga.
    Rollercoaster Tycoon for PC
Metal Gear Solid for the PS1
Wonderboy 3: The Dragon's Trap for the Master System

Oooh forgot about Theme Park. Lost hours to that too. Sticking loads of salt in the chips, then putting the drink stall next door. Textbook.

I got the PlayStation classic thing some months ago, and one of those 'Crackhead' extra game packs for it.
I thought it would be ace playing loads of original PS1 games again, but I lost interest in it after a few hours lol.
The classic games are great etc, but they just don't have the appeal anymore. And trophies/achievements didn't even exist in those days!!.

Memories of trying to program a Commodore 64 out of magazines coming back, ages typing, ages waiting to load to almost never succeed.
