..terrible at the minute, I think I counted 8 posts in the 1st half on Twitter to check for updates; I had to go on Leyton Orient’s page or come on here to see how we were doing.

I’d not even realised we made a sub at the start of the 2nd half until it was mentioned on here, I think the club updated us on around 50 minutes.

You might think it comes across as petty but when you’re out and about the first thing you look for is Twitter updates, shame really as we really used to be on it but it’s got worse as this season has gone on…

Maybe the staff are stretched at the minute but it’s still pretty amateurish, especially in the world of Social Media we’re in at the minute.

Is twatter the first thing everyone goes to? I've never looked at twatter for updates. If it's an away game I'm not at, I will use flashscores and bet365 inplay to see how we are doing.

It’s the 1st thing that I go to tbh, never thought about checking on betting apps.

Flashscores has all the match stats, subs etc almost instantly and the 365 match engine (other engines are available) gives an idea of how the game is going if you watch it for a while.

    Read the O P as.

We haven't lost, how can I have a dig at the club?

    Oh I know....

Correct, and you can even get it to send you updates when goals are scored in your "favourite" games. I rarely use anything else for our away games

So when you described the game as a yawnfest yesterday in the match day thread, you weren't actually watching the game?

    That's not fair.

We now live in this social media immediate news society where if something is not to our liking then we use that same outlet to complain.

So either attend the game or use ifollow if you wish to see what is happening..For everything else then just accept whatever is next best but please don't use it as a stick to beat the football club.

Tbf the OP is right on this occasion (the first time I've ever said that). You look at other clubs twitter pages and they're updated when someone picks their nose - we don't. It's not anti-club or whatever, just facts.

I like to follow a match on twitter if I'm not watching - it gives you more of a feel for what's happening than via a third party website.

Comms used to be great - in the past, updates were plentiful. Now they aren't.

The idea probably is, if we only drip feed information on twitter, more people are likely to subscribe to ifollow for the commentary. The toxic nature of football fans on Twitter also probably forces the club to share as little as possible. I agree that certain things need announcing. But I know the type of tweets he's referring to, they're the ones like 60 - Styles comes close with a low strike, but we remain deadlocked. Which was often followed by a tirade of abuse for the club and/or for the player mentioned. I bet the club just think, what's the point.

I used to follow our games on twitter because I really dont enjoy radio commentary. This season I can't because it's practically non existent.

I don't know if it's due to budge cuts and staff losses due to not getting promoted or if someone new is in charge of media at the club but our output is in my opinion at an all time low. Worse than the days of Rib noodles

Long time since I've given any thought to Rib Noodles.

I'm delighted to report the name we christened him with still made me laugh and I haven’t grown up at all.

Never thought about the abuse angle - a good point. Would imagine it's the same for most clubs though.

Well they'd be right. What on earth is the point of twitter? It's a cesspool.

I stay away from betting sites. You can’t berate someone for their first port of call being an official club account.
