MDT, Tykes v Salopians

Very good first half. We have played some nice stuff and look dangerous on the counter. I thought they could have had a penalty before we scored as their lad had his shirt pulled back. But we are definitely due some luck in that particular department…

 

Happy with that!

 

Very boring stuff for the most part but also a game plan that works so can't argue with that at all. If it works it works, that's all the manager is paid for

 

Not entirely sure the goal McAtee scored when it got ruled out for a corner should have been ruled out. Didnt look to go anywhere near over line?

Great first half. Brilliant by Cole for second. Not completely impressed by Cotter, and neither is Collins given his antics towards him, but other than that I think everyone has done well!

He’s been tidy but he doesn’t look a class above whatsoever. I wouldn’t say he’s even been our best player. McAtee has been energetic and takes the ball on the turn, always looks to be positive even if it doesn’t work, Styles has looked good. Russell hasn’t done anything wrong whatsoever but I wouldn’t say he’s been a class above at all, his teammates have also turned up tonight.

The back three have been faultless and calm, Mael nearly made a balls up and ended up setting up the second goal chance from it!

 

I thought it was a goal too. And that challenge on Cotter... I know he'd lost control of it, but their lad could have been done for GBH.

 

The opposition have been poor out of possession, it doesn’t lessen our performance by admitting that and pretty pointless ignoring it.

imho...good half.
I thought Shrewsbury with their dark arts on this pitch (heavy) may bully us....but we have been bright and sharp and most of it has come off.
Cole needs a goal....Cotter can't do anything right......French kid looks fantastic again and midfield look very good. Side mention for Mctee too...proper shift and some good touches.
Hope for more of the same 2nd half.

Haven't seen it back mate but looked like he was ganged up on by 2 of 'em haha - don't think a pen was given because Cotter wasn't in control of the ball then? Not sure

 

Hee hee Yes I know I have a bee in my bonnet about it but conversely when results are going the other way the opposition never seem to get the credit and it’s always laid at the door of our own short comings.

 

Solid first half, hopefully we can pick em off second half and get a couple more.

 

Shame about Styles. Hope he's not out too long
