What’s actually our style of play?

It’s not a moan or out but we don’t seem to have any identity so far this season.

However If we stop the highest scorers in the league we’ll go up so alls well really.

The gates are falling and the ones of us that do go contribute to a funeral atmosphere

I’ve been trying to remember an occasion in my 57 years of attending Oakwell when we won the toss and elected to kick into the Ponty first half. Very odd and did nothing for the atmosphere.

I assumed we must have lost the toss. Did we really win it?

I think as Jay had said it’s a work in progress. We just need to learn to release the final ball a bit quicker to use the pace of Cole, Watters and McAtee but I think Luca coming back will help that as will a consistently fit Styles.

the passing was a bit more incisive tonight.

Main concern for me is at wing back with Cotter being a wild card and O’Keefe not really impressing. Maybe if Lopata comes back Jordan can move back to wing back.

I'm sure we've done it occasionally in the past so the opposition keeper has had the sun in his eyes first half. But that's definitely a rare occurrence. Was actually thinking tonight that we've probably played towards the Ponty in the first half more this season than we did in the entire of last season.

I think in a recent interview Collins intimated Williams would stay as CB regardless, he really likes him there. Issue if we do move Williams to rwb, our defence is verrrry slow. I dont even realise just how many recovery runs Williams actually makes until I re watch the match

When I go to the match I don't expect to hear the individual voices of players like you can in practice matches. What I do expect is the players to put on a performance for me to get excited about and not the turgid stuff I have witnessed lately. Atmosphere comes from performance and not t he other way round. 3 pts, brill, 3rd in league, brill, football quality sh*te.

We looked pretty solid at the back.

We were much the better side after the penalty - the goal upped our confidence and we passed it around better.

Cole had one of his better games which tends to make a difference for us.

Both Cotter and O'Keefe are struggling on the right hand side - is there anyone else to play there?

    Quite enjoyed tonight.

A bit harsh on O'Keefe. His season has been a bit stop-start due to injury, but apart from a costly mistake against Blackpool he's not really let us down, plus he's created quite a bit going forwards. If you could morph him and Cotter into one player he'd be the best right back in the league and probably in the Championship as well. But if that player existed he wouldn't be playing for Barnsley. At least not once Luton's scouts got wind of him.

We’re certainly not Man City but the football under Collins is ten times better than under Big Val we ain’t doing too bad considering yet another summer upheaval.

yes it’s been stop start for O’Keefe but a few glimpses aside he’s struggling. An ‘O’Cotter mash up would be amazing.

I can appreciate that and Jordan is perhaps more suited to the CB role but we are really struggling at Right Wing Back.

Agree with this, took my 6 year old to a 5-0 win last season (can’t remember who it was against but it was kids for a quid) he was bored shitless because the game didn’t have any edge to it. Tonight was similar. It’s always going to be this way in League One though, most of the division is low on quality and we will walk over sides like tonight without really getting out of first gear.

Hopefully the game against Fleetwood on sat is more entertaining.

I thought we were a little more cohesive tonight.

The second half wasn’t an entertainment fest but we were 2-0 up, making substitutions with Saturday in mind and managing the game.

    No complaints at all.
