Just seen that spurs have released their version of the Alumni numbers (Legacy Numbers they have called it) I know there's varying factors in terms of difference between our club and theirs in terms of player turnover etc. But its interesting to see that Tottenham have only had 879 players make an appearance since their first recorded competitive fixture in 1894. This compared to our 1423 players since 1888. Personally I think the alumni numbers is a great addition for any club. Especially if you're a local lad who has made an appearance for your boyhood club and can have it signified with a record in the clubs history.
I don't know if it has a bearing. But we joined the football league in 1898. Spurs in 1908. Spurs are also the only non league team ever to win the FA cup. In 1901. v Blunts in front of 114,000.
Is there much difference in numbers to 1990? It feels like we've had 1,423 loan signings since the year 2000. Spurs never needed the loan market to sign Maceo Rigters
Alumni is a plural of alumnus. An individual player should be given an alumnus number. One of those things that bugs me. Sorry.
