Guessing you missed the last 5 minutes of the semi final Ian. South Africa sneaked past England in the final few minutes so you don't have to support NZ!!:)

NZ have been out of sorts, but the full red is ridiculous, as is South Africa manipulating the rules again with the injury to Mbonambo.. The Rugby Unions have got their heads so far up their own arses as far as the rules go it's now beyond a joke...it needs a root and branch look at them after the World Cup.

Think under the current rules it is a red but seems very harsh. Effectively game over though can’t see NZ coming back when a man down as well

Did anybody even notice that the two losing Semi finalists played last night, for the so called consolation of 3rd place. What a pointless fixture, in any sport!.

Ok I’ll bow to your superior knowledge of rugby union as I ken heehaw.
But still hoping NZ can get a couple of tries.

I agree. Here's what you could have won.

I watched it.. England were absolutely dire again, just as though the improvement of the last two or three games never happened.

There’s going to be a lot of red cards if that’s the standard. I know they’re trying to protect the players but the lad is nearly a foot shorter to begin with and ducked into it, the flanker is a huge unit and whilst a bit high he’s trying to wrap and complete a tackle.

Not the ref or TMOs fault though, they’re the rules they’re asked to follow but that for me should be penalty - a harsh yellow maybe; never a red. My lad plays u16 rugby union; he’d be distraught to be sent off and that could happen to anyone.

A point has just come up in the pub.
What happens if it’s a draw.
    Extra time?

I didn't even want to mention who was playing in it, and I certainly didn't watch it.
I can understand the need for this sporting fixture in the Olympics for example, where the winners get a Bronze. But not in a World cup or Euros!.

We’ll remember that we finished third … well for a day or two at most
