They'll get half that which is a fair whack tbh, when he was here we'd have paid someone to take him away.
I would have thought you were made if you had said that in 2016. I would have banked on Ashley Fletcher being the man that applied to. The way Toney has developed has been incredible- he’s certainly a top player.
Just look at what Man Utd and Chelsea have paid for bang average players I reckon Brentford will easily get 90+ in the current market.
His ban is over in January. Whoever buys him could play him and he’s back in training so will be decently fit you’d imagine. It’s perfect for Brentford really; they’ve had to get used to playing without him, the fans are used to him not being there, so they can cash in and get no fan backlash whatsoever realistically. I think they’ll get the money if they hold out, especially if Chelsea come in. If it was only Arsenal I’d suggest £60-70 million but get a bidding war, and one of the clubs being as batshjt crazy as Chelsea, and they can name their price.
That's what I heard and we were strongly linked at the time kieffer left. Posh didn't want to sell to us and the negativity surrounding it by barnsley fans was embarrassing not many wanted him back. I imagine posh will have a decent sell on in there
Me too. Fletcher looked to have all the attributes to become a complete centre-forward at the top level. Toney on the other hand - I genuinely expected him to be a lower league toiler. Bizarre how their careers went in absolutely opposing trajectories.
He’s obviously very good but I’d be very reluctant to spend the money been talked about. I don’t think he’s any better than Watkins, Wilson & Calvert-Lewin albeit he’s less injury prone than the last two. I don’t think he improves the first teams of City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs, Arsenal or Villa. He would improve Chelsea in the sense that they don’t have a proven striker but if I’d got £70m to spend I’d be looking elsewhere. I don’t think he’s a striker that puts Chelsea back in the bracket of title contenders.
He's miles better than calvert lewin and ahead of Wilson imo but Wilson is in a better team with a better manager.
After getting close to 5 mil for Kitching, we'd easy be getting 250 million for Toney. Professional now ya know
He 10000% improve man utd without doubt, Chelsea too as you mention. When players like Havertz are still moving for 65 mill, you'd expect a little more for a Toney mate
Love it. People can laugh all they want, but it's good to see a so called smaller side who are punching above their natural level, playing hard ball. West Ham got 105 million for Rice and whilst he's good, it's a lot of cash for someone who won't bang in anything like the amount of goals Toney would.
