I’m surprised no one has mentioned this but good luck to those affected https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-67267093.amp
Bought a new front door last year and invited the salesman around from this group to show me their brochure. Got a bad feeling during the process, it felt like an episode of Rogue Traders, so didn't pursue.
I'd seen a fair number of SafeStyle employees suddenly looking for a new job at the back end of last week on LinkedIn. Not a surprise, but really bad for those affected.
Son and son in law both worked there. My son overheard a conversation with managers a few weeks ago, saying they only had enough trading capital for 3 weeks. My lad knew something was wrong so got himself a new job and started last Friday. When he handed his notice in, the following day they set someone else on so he could train them up knowing full well what was about to happen. Son in law didn't believe him, he had been there 3 years so a very small amount of redundancy to come but luckily he's found a new job and starts on Monday. My lad had only been there 9 months so not much to come back anyway if he had stayed
It’s probably hardest for the fitters who will be self employed and won’t get anything. They went in to admin at the end of the month and on a Friday so cash flow is probably what did it in for them.
