Cheers Nez. If nothing else it would be good for this to be a foot on the next rung for him.

Think this is definitely a fair reflection so far. Especially at home. Our midfield in Russell & Kane take 4,5 touches at times instead of quick, progressive passing, especially to our wing backs. Kane has made some lovely assists but for some reason he doesn't always try making the same, forward passes. Whether that's confidence, down to Collins, or maybe his inability to always see the pass is the problem, I don't know. What I will say is I think when Connell is fit & firing, we'll see a completely new midfield, well it'll feel like one.

I do know that on all evident form that if goals is the question Watters is most definitely not the answer!

Looks that way at the minute but there probably wasn't too many complaints when we initially signed Cosgrove and Watters, I'm hopeful that they'll come good when they are given a good run of games in a settled side.

That’s definitely my hope. Any team losing a player like Luca will suffer. He was the glue from defence to attack last season and has been a big miss.

Doesn't seem to be, hopefully he can turn it around given how long his contract is. Personally, I would have liked to see him loaned out instead of Marsh, because Marsh at the time was playing better for us. Shaw definitely seems a miss too, I expect he'll be moved on. Dallas reminded me of Dagnall a little, but we didn't really see enough of him, don't think he's been performing very well in Scotland but can't pretend I've seen him up playing, just not heard anything good. Let's hope Cosgrove & Cole can make a solid partnership together

Hahahahaha that is embarassing conceding 3 at home.

Okay we get the magic of the cup. But they are usually 1 nil 2 1.

We conceded 3 at home. The board have killed us. We can't stand up and sing. We have national league players combined with young talent.

It's always us who pull of miracles. Negative ones.

I hope so too, mate. Is there a better midfielder in the league this year? Can't think of one off the top of my head. It's a shame Kitching left so late, but his performances definitely showed his head was turned. A great deal for us, and hopefully we spend some of that in Jan.

This sort of fixture is a hiding to nothing, because even if we'd done them 5-0 for example, there's the argument that we should be beating a team like that comfortably anyway.
But it doesn't always work out like that, and I'm glad at least that sometimes (even if its against us), the magic of the Fa cup does still exist.
The promotion challenge isn't affected tonight, and that remains as our priority this season.
But now they have had their great night out at ours, I hope we tear into them in the replay, No Mercy lol.

Kitching deal far too good to turndown but we definitely need to invest some of that.

I don't know mate, Watters didn't do enough last season when here on loan, couldn't believe it when we signed him on a permanent.

I'd be bitterly disappointed if we don't (considering of course we'll need to, which I'd be extremely surprised if we didn't...) spend some of it. I understand the clubs finances aren't the best, but it will be a real opportunity for promotion. It's worth the risk, especially given just how much we've actually earned via transfers.

Can't disagree too much mate but I'd still like to see him have a good run of games before judging him, Cole was written off when he was a bit part player under Woodrow but shone when Duff showed belief in him.

Another entertaining game! That's 2 in a row.

Pretty sure MDG didn't score the 3rd.

To repeat, without a proper attacking midfielder, and without strikers who can't hold a ball up or attack the front stick, or wingers who can't beat a man, we're slow crab like and turgid as a team.

But it was indeed entertaining, and we've also managed to hold both Fleetwood and Horsham to a draw, so why not be positive?

It's easy to berate our players for tonight and I've passed summary judgement in the MotM thread but I would also like to praise Horsham in that they were everything we weren't in terms of guts, determination and giving all they had for the cause. In 10 out wide and 14 up front I thought they also had the best two players on the pitch.

I’m not as extreme as a lot but I’m sorry, things are far from fine. They really are.

I would play Flavell. He can't possibly be any worse.
