Khaled made Don Rowing look like very capable at his job. Never known someone at the club like it. As much as the likes of Mansford and Rowing had nightmares, they woke up from them. Khaled has been a shocking appointment from day one and have gone backwards since his appointment month by month. Bringing Dane back would be an outstanding appointment but can’t see it. Too good for us.
Not sure about Gaulthier coming back. Thought he was decent whilst here but his links to PMG frighten me.
Newcastle actually. And the following that night, beat expectations. Don't remember numbers but better than decent for a 2nd rd league cup tie. (1k + rings a bell ) Which he alluded to. Worra complete nob. And tbh. why someone didn't step in and overrule him. Only god knows. The BFCT. Got it down to 2 per ST. We'd 8k+ season ticket holders ffs. His argument was. If we dont sell the full allocation. Due to us. The club would have to stump up the shortfall. Easily the biggest fekk up in my lifetime of watching the reds.
Sorry to see him go.The challanges he faced when he arrived was met head on and although his answers didn't fit some agendas he was always available to discuss any issues with any supporter group or individual. At times he was blamed for anything what happened at BFC even when the truth was hitting people in the face. All the best from me Khaled good luck to you and your family.
While this clears up the speculation, and is welcome news, it doesn't excuse the very obvious deficiencies in the CEO role in recent weeks/months, which it seems will be allowed to continue until a replacement has been sourced. For the time-being, we'll continue to have a CEO in name only. He might continue to be 'in-role' but I'm not sure what he's doing on a day-to-day basis, other than being largely silent and invisible.
Yep the whole shirts fiasco should have been acknowledged and dealt with but he’s happily just ticking along until he gets to move on. Really poor way to leave and speaks volumes really.
Well I wish him well in his future endeavours. He joined us at an incredibly difficult time, made some mistakes all the way through his time here but despite that I’m sure he was doing his best. The King is dead, long live the King, onwards and upwards.
So far out of his depth he needed a pair of armbands. His legacy, flatbreads, west stand closure and Hex. One of the most inflated CV’s in football.
I sometimes think I'm alone in thinking Dane Murphy was actually not very good in the role for us either. I'd take Mansford back over Murphy. For the customer-facing part of the role any road. Or Whitey. With Mansford in a Director of CEO's role to assist.
Rowing was rubbish but it was two tickets per season ticket holder for Anfield, not four. Still too many when we only had 6k and at the time had 8k STHs.
Apologies for getting the wrong match, but I agree that that was the biggest **** up in my lifetime as well. I had a bit of a personal run in when he refused to support a charity event that was organised by a BFC supporter mate of mine. Got bits to raffle from all other 4 SY clubs but the Don went to the trouble of replying and saying no. Wasn't the Colchester stub also Rowing?
Memory might be playing tricks but I could have sworn it was 4. Although I didn't agree with it ,I somehow managed to get 4 tickets in total for that match. No idea how I did it maybe had a ST mate who was on holiday.
