Barnsley have lost the last 7 times I've been to Pride Park.

What's the point in any of us turning up if we're just going to lose? Not one person in a red shirt looked bothered today. Less so when, as usual after going a goal down, they retreated into their shells like first class cowards.

Devante Cole and the like who have played there a few times, "oooooh Derby get 20,000 at home, we better cower in their magnificence and decide to play like northern league players - but we'll flex our muscles when we're at the likes of Northampton or Cheltenham!".

Some serious words need to be had amongst the absolute soft lads that embarrassed themselves on the pitch today. I like Derby as a city but I'm ******* sick to death of Barnsley playing there hungover.

I wonder if they'll show up on Tuesday?

We didn't flex our muscles against the mighty Horsham a team full of plumbers and bin men. Or lee johnsons Fleetwood before that.

You definitely get the feeling in the stands that if we lose the first goal it’s more or less game over and i think it’s been transferred onto the pitch now with the players feeling the same.

Load of nonsense. I didn't see any lack of effort at all. We were just played very badly in the second half, and Derby were pretty good. The players kept plugging away right to the end, even though nothing was coming off. It's the sort of thing that happens to every football team up and down the country except Manchester City, at least a few times every season. Poor, disjointed display? Most definitely. Lack of effort? Not remotely in my opinion.

You watched a different game to me then, clearly. I've been to Pride Park many times and, as has always happened apart from during Covid, we were utterly lethargic. Neither Cole nor Watters (not a surprise) moved up front, our midfield did nothing, our defence were pathetic against an overweight clown in Collins. "Oh it just happens". Why did it happen here for the 8th time in a row (covid aside) then?

Interesting you single out Cole and watters. I haven't been impressed by watters this season but they had nothing to feed off today. Styles shouldn't have bothered getting off the bus maybe next week he will turn up. The wing backs weren't at it and the 2nd half was abysmal. The way Collins sets us up doesn't help doesn't play to our strengths and Williams was getting tore a new one everyone in pride Park could see that apart from Collins who did Jack ****.

Watters was indeed feeding on scraps but he never tries to make a bad ball into a good un by pressurising the defender or by putting himself about infact he just looks like he can’t be arsed.

I don't think we ever looked like winning today or even attempt to ruffle them which like you say is very very poor but Collins must take his share of blame for whatever the game plan was supposed to be. Didn't we win there 2-1 under Val in lockdown, he certainly played to win.

One thing about val his football wasn't pretty but he could organise a team and put round pegs in round holes.

    This with bells on.

Nothing like knowing you’re not going to win with more than half of the game remaining, especially in the knowledge that others around us are winning.

I was hoping we would kick the habit when we went 2-1 down v Horsham, but even that was beyond us.

It’s one hell of a handicap to carry.

I thought Watters was one of our better players today, not that it counts for much. He gets far too much stick for me.

Didn't think he was great and got dragged off again early but what did he have to feed off? Both him and Cole had to drop deep to get involved in play.

    Agreed.

A very frustrating day at the office, and to top it off I’ve just missed the last train home. ******* fantastic.
