That ball from the back to Marsh for McAtee’s goal. …. Was it Shepherd?? Been out tonight so only seen a clip on a phone.
Can't answer your question Fired, but I will say he looks better at the left of the 3 than the centre. A few silly mistakes that might have cost us last night.
And would have, if they were league games. Mael needs to stay in the middle. Shep at the left. Lopata right when he is fit
I’ve been banging the drum for Shepherd to be brought back but he had a dodgy game last night. Obviously looks better on the left than centre.
He played a few long passes that were very accurate. Not sure if that was one, but he demonstrated he could do it.
Shepherd was a liability last night. He wouldn't have got in the Horsham side on that performance. I'm not saying he can't improve and make it at this level but he's very much work in progress. He gifted them 2 gilt-edged chances and his confidence visibly drained after that. He's brave and his positioning looks fine but short sharp passing is definitely beyond him as of yet. I wish the lad good luck on his journey with us.
Yea i think we have to remember that having replaced the full back 3 from last year....these kids we have brought in are no where near the finished article.
Not saying the lad can't improve massive step up for him but I put him in the category of the more he doesn't play the better he gets. The last one was Hondermarck and there's been a few in recent years.
Personally don't think he's had bad game other than Horsham with his short passing. Never been the worst defender on the pitch that's for sure. Id certainly start him over Mccart for now as he's our own player and is playing well whilst Mccart isn't pulling up any trees
For me mcCart is a average league 1 defender doesn't stand out but also he's not made too many mistakes, young Shepard got some way to go to reach that level but he's got potential to reach and maybe go beyond that level. To pitch him in and expect him to play week in week out 10 levels above is for me too much to expect, they are doing the right expose him when the games right and let him learn his trade.
Agree Shepherd was poor last night. Spilt the ball too many times. He looked the only way Horsham would get back into it. Early days for him. Worry about his nervousness.
The highlights on ifollow include the pass. I think it's McCart. It's either him or De Gevigney judging by their hair colour, but I'm fairly certain it was McCart.
Folk are bashing Shepherd for the mistakes but one for instance was after an absolutely shocking decision of a ball from MDG to pass it to him when he was marked - it was an automatic pass to the side from all the crab like conditioning we do. Stupid pass. MDG just couldn't be arse to look to play it forward.
