Because he gave a pen and the double jeopardy applies Inside box yellow and pen Outside red and free kick Ref got it wrong but morally correct
They got very giddy about Alfie May's goal. Not dissimilar to McAtee's second last night, but May needed an extra touch, so McAtee wins.
Not seen this incident. But Mads, he shouldn't have been sent off, because he got fouled first. But he got the red as he was deemed the last man, stopping a clear goal opportunity - which if I seem to remember he wasn't anyway
Because mads was deemed not to have made an attempt to play the ball The Charlton Keeper went for the ball but was late But in any case the Mads sending off was wrong for other reasons
I thought you said double jeopardy Inside box yellow and pen Outside red and free kick.. So that only applies if you kick the bloke up in the air?
Sorry yes mate you are correct. Mads was deemed not to even try get the ball, the referee thought he only tried to foul him without even trying to defend the goal
I wouldn't say it was pathetic. We got a bit complacent, but the job was done inside the first 10 minutes.
If we'd gone in 1-1 at half time then social media and this forum would have gone into meltdown. And I wouldn't be surprised if we'd have gone on to do similar, to be honest. We got the job done within half an hour, and then engaged autopilot. Do I like it? Not particularly. But there it is, I think. I'm more interested in how we manage upcoming games in the league.
Usually, I'd agree. But given the fact the manager & players know full well there's an uproar amongst the fans regarding performances, especially after Derby, I don't think it wise to just settle. We made 2 huge mistakes at the back, which would 100% have resulted in conceding if it were in a league game, and then they had other half chances. I really wanted us to smash that second half, another couple of goals, and quiet down some of the fan base and hope to go on a run, instead it was an incredibly boring watch as a Barnsley fan and some of the chances we gave away worried me.
I think we didn't really get out of first gear in the second half, through choice. As I say, it was complacent, but had they scored, I'm sure we'd have gone up a gear. We had 2 good chances towards the end too, and had they gone in, or had Marsh not had his goal disallowed, and we'd won by 4 or 5, I don't think much would have been made of the second half display. I thought we managed the game fairly well, tried to avoid injuries, and although we were complacent, I think it's difficult to compare it to a league game because of the nature of the occasion.
A fair assumption, mate. One I'd probably agree with - but my point was about that complacency. Manager should have drilled it into them we need to put on a proper show for 90 minutes, we barely had the ball in their half for about 20 minutes after the second half kick off. As I said earlier, usually I wouldn't mind, but when he's under this much scrutiny from the fans, I think it wise to put them to the sword. Least Connell got more minutes under his belt bud, massive for us.
