It was a little bit lighthearted but we have seen many times how players have slow starts at new clubs and when settled they become successful and there is no reason this can't happen to Cosgrove and Watters.

I also think that when I made my post that was pretty obvious what i was referring to and that may be its a little early to write them both off.

Norwood was getting dogs abuse from the same arseholes who are now giving Watters et al dogs abuse.

The world turns but some never learn.

Yeah sorry, I was being light hearted too. Apols if that didn’t come across.

Personally I’m still happy to give Cosgrove a bit more time, but Watters is all out of grace for me. He’s been here way long enough now IMO, to make a difference. I suspect he’s still dining on credit from the Wednesday goal, for some. If he comes good overnight, I’ll be the first to give him praise. I just see no evidence so far, that he will.

I agree with you about the effort Norwood put in, but I am not sure I agree that any of our strikers is technically better than him. I think he is better in every respect than Watters, Cosgrove and Shaw. I have not seen enough of Dallas to form an opinion.

Got told by loads of people it was down to his driving ban and oldham been local for him. Last season devante was taking him to training, he might have been really stranded for a lift after January when Cole leaves.

Only time I remember Norwood getting abuse was the stupid sending off against Lincoln. Cole got more abuse than Norwood even last season when he was top scorer.

The scattergun approach to signing strikers this season has totally backfired. I don't get why we can't spend a £1M or more on a striker, when we can afford to keep selling our captains.

If that is the reason, then I can't help but think that's complete nonsense. If I have a job somewhere, and I need to go to the office, then I need to live near that office. That doesn't seem to apply to footballers for some reason.

I honestly don't know why we let Norwood leave, he was under contract, he would have been well paid for another year. We also know that he and Cole worked as a partnership.

Well if he got banned half way through last season maybe it is true and he thought I'll take this closer to home. Suprised he dropped 2 divisions to non league if I'm honest. I don't think losing him was such a big deal more losing the back 3 and the style that Collins is implementing is the problem.

Norwood lost his license in 2021 and got a 40 month ban, so was already banned when he joined.

Ah fair enough. Like I said I heard he wanted the oldham move as it was closer to where he lived and cole gave him a lift to training. It makes sense in a way as you would have thought he would have been able to get a football league club to take a chance on him.
