I’m off to the Bruges one next Setdi. I’ll let you all know if it was possible to breathe when walking between stalls.

Bit far, but Edinburgh's is probably the best I've been to in the UK. Manchester second. York was alright a few years ago. Newcastle's last year was a bit small. As is the ones in Leeds and Sheffield. We're gonna try Liverpool this year I reckon.

I went to the one in Hyde park (in London) in Dec '08 or '09, whichever it was lol. And I think even weather records showed that was possibly the coldest day of that year.
Even Barnsley winning promotion or England winning the Euros that day couldn't have warmed me up. As uncle Albert would say, it was so cold, the flame on his lighter froze up. :D
But despite that, and how expensive it was, I/we had a brilliant day and really enjoyed it. :)

Now the Christmas market has been cancelled, I'd definitely recommend coming to Lincoln for the day or weekend anyway.

The city is beautiful with fantastic eateries and a great range of independent shops. Well worth a visit in its own right, market or not.

Only just read this thread but your bang on Orared...liked Charlottenburg, well worth a visit. Best place I've been for Christmas/New year was Bergmo, it's like a fairytale Christmas up in the Old town...

Went to the Sheffield one in 2019. I bought some expensive Chilli Cheese and had a couple of Mulled Wines. Not a bad experience. Bought my Elton John best of from HMV. Ironic that the main thing I bought I could have got anywhere. :)

I can recommend Krakow, lovely city, lovely people, great Christmas market without the usual nonsense you get in England.

Its been nearly 20 years since my last visit to Berlin, but we enjoyed the zoo. From there, you can walk to KaDaWe (2nd largest department store in Europe) and enjoy the interesting Santa costume - I'll not spoil it for you, but its not what you expect. - or the other way to Tiergarten and then along to Brandenburger Tor and the Reichstag. I'm not sure where the remains of the wall are now, but I'd try to visit those and also go into the old East Berlin to look at the differences in architecture.

Across from the Zoo is the Kaiser Wilhelm Church which had a Christmas market just outside. Another big one was at Alexander Platz.

A fantastic city - one of my favourites in Europe. Enjoy.

Humbug! Sounds like many on here are victims of Christmas propaganda claptrap, get a grip. Barnsley market is suffice for those who know where it is. Fancy getting on an aeroplane to buy some trinkets and other bric-o-brac, worlds gone mad.
