He's a problem and needs to go but I'm more concerned about those in charge. For me the CEO position is absolutely critical and the lack of action from those above speak volumes.
Lincoln, Wycombe, Reading and Charlton are the next four league games. A really tough run in this division, this is either the making of him or will see him off I believe.
I wouldn't necessarily go with the belief that team choice and tactics are being forced on Collins but I do believe our problems come from higher up the Club's hierarchy than Head Coach.
So if he goes, who appoints the next one, Khaled on wind down, probably be Kid Super if it's up to JAQ.
I'm not happy with the possession based style of play that we keep seeing. When we have played faster more attacking football we have looked a much better team. Maybe the tippy tappy around the back 3 is putting our team to sleep instead of the opposition.
That’s the problem. We’re effectively between CEOs so I can’t see a change in head coach any time soon. Genuinely hope he can turn things around but I’m not convinced at all.
Saw Re CEO, a lack of information does not always mean a lack of action, and there can be plenty of action without a positive result.
Yeah the way they run the club for a start, continually selling for a profit. Its crossed my mind that he's only there to coach them, and they are making too many important footballing decisions. And while it was annoying when Connor Chaplin went running his mouth against our club last season. The hardest thing to accept is that what he said was/is absolutely correct!.
Given the fact that he's got us in and around the play offs with a very average squad, I think he deserves another month. If this run continues then the board will have no option though. Tough times ahead potentially, but I wouldn't like to sack a manager 4 months into the season when we are 6th in the table.
It was always gonna be reserves against a team only 1 divison below first team. Collins needs to. Go. Especially even if stead thinks he's strange
Feel sorry for him, Khaled has left him with a real sh!tshow of a totally inadequate squad, particularly at the back. As Cloughie said, it's players and not tactics that lose you matches.
I think he needs to be given until it's no longer possible to make the playoffs. That gives him time to do something in January.
I’ve thought from very early on that he is the wrong fit. I don’t find him inspiring and wonder how he can inspire and motivate players. Evidence thus far, is he can’t. I find his style of play even less inspiring on both counts it’s chalk and cheese with Duff / Val. I don’t understand why we have, as a club (this is aimed at the board) scrapped a successful high pressing system that suits youth. It smacks of a panic appointment after duff left them in the ****. Thats also poor planning as contingencies should have been in place. however, everyone should be given a fair opportunity, which is a season. I remain of the view we will finish mid table. If so, should he be sacked? 100% yes. I am seeing no progress at all unfortunately and the board should be looking at a contingency plan now to bring in a coach that plays a pressing style on the front foot, especially if it insists on continuing to buy under 23 players
I’ll stick to my guns. Not gonna have a knee jerk reaction to a Mickey Mouse Cup game, as horrible as it was. If we drop out of top six at Christmas, I’d probably pull the trigger. Can’t ignore the CEO position though.
Even if we weren’t between CEOs, I’d be amazed if we were sacking a Manager when 6th in the League. We have never been that sort of club.
I'd argue it isn't a average squad for this level. Cadden Williams Phillips connell styles kane watters Cole.. I could go on all more than capable at this level. Its not just the results it's the ***** football he has been consistently producing.
