Technically it’s John Gregory I believe in 2018 with the Indian Super League but I think that’s splitting hairs TBH over the point being made.

Just think what we could do if he'd take the handbrake off sometime. We should have beaten Italy in Euro final after taking an early lead but his defensive mentality made sure we didn't.

There's a decent core of Man City players that have played under him that you could bring into the team and ask them to play in a manner they are already used to:
    - Walker
    - Stones
    - Grealish
    - Foden
    - Palmer
    - Rico Lewis

I like this post. Anyone English "playing" regularly higher up the Premier League or any of the top European Leagues should be selected for England. Going forward we're bombed out with talent but central midfield and defensive positions we're sadly lacking. I personally think Ward Prowse, Maddision and Rice should be the midfield three. With Foden, Kane and Saka up front. Defence should be Walker, Burn, Stones and Trippier.

Yeah there is that argument as well I suppose, that after getting us into those winning positions... Gareth and the players have blown it every time, for whatever reason.
Having a hard to beat team is effective, like Italy and Germany and France can be. But they can take it further as well and grind it out if needed, and win Trophies.
And sadly that's what is still missing with us, it feels like we're getting there each time a tournament comes around. And then its just disappointment again!.
