I don't put him in the Roberts class mate. But I think he is coming in for some totally unnecessary criticism. Most of the goals conceded I put solely at the fault of the defence. Bad mistakes by the defence. Crap defending and stupid penalties by the defence, dont help his cause.
I opined in a post a couple of weeks ago that I could not understand the overestimation of De Gevigney's ability. I'm fairly sure I even read posts comparing him to De Zeeuw and to the immaculate Paul Futcher.
I'm not a massive fan of Killip and I agree with a lot of what you say - but neither goal was remotely his fault today.
Not seen the second one back yet as it was up the other end but my first thought was that maybe he could’ve come for the cross? Might realise I was totally wrong when I see it. The first was an absolutely stupid challenge by our captain. Yet another daft penalty to give the opposition a start. Must be half a dozen at least now?
Watched the replay once. Looks like a decent save from the corner, not much he could have done about the rebound. Seriously horrible defending though.
On loan at Dundee utd from luton 1st choice. Unlike Collins and Isted tbf. Isted is the best of the 3 imho. Walton 2nd. Unpopular opinion on here. But its mine.
Ah right, thanks. I’ve no interest in Scottish football so I had no idea he was there. Collins permanently welded to the bench. Isted been injured a while
Everytime I chose Walton over Collins this board went into meltdown. How very much dare I. (Have an opinion that differs ie.)
Whilst I agree with a lot of that, as someone else posted, what is his shots-to-save ratio? Robert’s had the same defence, but seemed to stop a lot of the shots which got through.
Brad Collins is the best in my opinion. I know he's not in the Coventry team at the moment, but I know a Coventry fan who said when they signed Collins that he would have a hard job to force his way into their side, as they already had an excellent keeper.
Completely agree. Isted is a brilliant keeper, without him I don't think we'd have even made the play offs at all. Collins is a great sweeper who fits perfectly into certain systems. Mainly ones that don't require him to dive and save a shot.
Well said Jay, Tosh & anyone else actually watching the game & not just looking at the team sheet & pretending we went defensive by bringing Lopata on for Cotter just to fit a pre-conceived narrative.
I don't think that was necessarily a defensive substitution, but we did seem to invite pressure onto us after we took the lead. Whether we were instructed to drop deeper I don't know, but I still think if we'd continued attacking in the same vein as we had been we'd have got a 3rd goal and put the game to bed.
Collins, Thomas and Kitching started together for Coventry for the first time yesterday. They kept a clean sheet.
