True, but I'm not 100% sure mate. Many reasons can pop up why. Long suspension i.e Toney, or injury etc so there may be a clause in it

Those saying boro can’t recall him unless we agree are being a bit naive to say the least.

There’s probably a recall clause for January in the deal anyway - but even if there isn’t, do you really think we’d refuse to allow a player to go back to his parent club - likely to play and be first choice - pissing off the player and the loaning club?

Which club would want to do future business with us and which player would choose to come to us on loan if we’re known for blocking their return if required?

If they want him, he’ll be gone. Simple as that. We just have to hope they don’t. Killip isn’t the required standard at all. Mentioning making no mistakes is all well and good but he doesn’t make many saves, take crosses, or instil any confidence in the defence in front of him either. There’s no definite measure but I reckon Roberts injury has cost us several goals, even if Killip hasn’t blatantly thrown many in.

If we lose Roberts we need at least one keeper - Killip for me isn’t good enough even for second choice and I’d wager that if they knew he was going to have to play as much as he has, that he wouldn’t have been signed.

He was their regular keeper up until the start of February.

This is what Teeside live says.

Middlesbrough will consider recalling their loan goalkeepers in January if both Seny Dieng and Tom Glover are away on international duty.

Boro do, however, have three very good goalkeepers out on loan this season, with Liam Roberts at Barnsley though currently out injured after finger surgery, while Zach Hemming is thriving in Scotland with St Mirren and Sol Brynn is impressing at Leyton Orient. All three loans have recall clauses, and bringing at least one back to cover throughout January is something Boro will consider.

Roberts and Hemming out of contract next summer. Brynn 2026.

So hopefully if they do recall one it would make more sense to be Brynn than someone out of contract at the end of the season

If it makes sense, then that definitely won't happen! :)
