He didn’t push him over there was a slight contact but no reason for their keeper to fling himself down and give us the ball

most Wycombe fans agree with the ref
    Here it is again

If Cosgrove had thrown himself to the ground after that collision claiming a penalty, he'd have been rightly booked for simulation. Contact or no contact, the keeper was not pushed over. He deliberately threw himself to the ground to waste time and made a right mess of it by dropping the ball.

If our keeper had done that, I'd have been fuming. Having had Brad Collins in the net for a few seasons I get we're in no position to wax lyrical about time wasting sharthouses. But if you're going to do it at least be good at it! That feeble effort just cost his team a point.

Having looked at that, it's most definitely not a foul.

Football is not a non-contact sport. If you drop the ball, as in this case, as a result of your own inability to keep hold of it, then play on.

Looking on Social Media - the majority of neutral fans seem to think it’s not a foul.

Most Wycombe fans also don’t think it’s a foul - they’re furious with their own keeper.

There’s also a decent amount of neutrals from L1 who are saying it serves Wycombe right - notorious for time wasting.

All in all, it’s a cracking goal!

Never seen a foul. It's the sort of behaviour they should be giving retrospective punishments for. It's a blatant attempt to cheat and it's backfired. You can tell with the way he scrambled for the ball after he dropped it that he knew he'd f*cked up.

No it’s not. It’s an attempt to cheat that went wrong and they got what they deserved tonight - absolutely nothing!

I do find it bizarre that on a match day thread where there’s people posting during the game there’s no mention of hitting the bar, Cosgrove missing a tap in, several near misses all in the second half. Just people whinging & moaning.

Styles is a massive problem because I think Collins has to play him because he’s the top earner at the club & we’re desperate to get shut. The problem is he’s never performed in midfield for us & whilst some think he’s not trying my worry is I think he is & I just don’t think he’s capable of quality central midfield performances.

I’d prefer Phillips over Styles or even McAtee there.

Another issue we’ve got is that I don’t think any of Cole, Watters & McAtee can play together effectively. None complement each others game where as I think a fit & firing Cosgrove could play with all 3. He’s just a completely different type of forward who gives us an aerial threat. 2nd half today, 2nd half at Lincoln & 2nd half against Pompey are all games where he’s made a big difference.

My other gripe is a lack of shooting from the edge of the box. I don’t get it. We’ll take risks out wide & Cotter & Cadden will risk giving the ball away trying to beat a man but on the edge of the box Kane, Styles & Phillips aren’t getting shots off. There only seems to be McAtee who will have a go from distance.

Yes I read that a while ago when looking on X for anything about the match. Shows that those Wycombe fans are far better human beings than most of the players who wear their shirt. Year after year they try every trick in the book to win matches. I hope their keeper is ashamed of himself for that piece of stupidity

At the time I thought it was a foul but the more I watch it I think the ref did well. Cosgrove isn’t trying to foul him, he’s trying to hurry things along.
Keeper bounces of him and in trying to make a meal of it, he makes a right mess of it. There simoly wasn’t enough of a challenge to make him hit the floor. You can tell Cosgrove is shocked by his reaction when the ball rolls lose.

The keeper was trying to be clever and get a cheap free kick and then waste time taking it. The problem for him was in being a **** he dropped the ball and Cosgrove said thanks very much and the ref saw through the keepers antics and gave the goal. The lesson the keeper should take from the incident is that sometimes when your trying to be a **** you end up looking a daft lovely person

Spot on mate. I think we could unite behind that spirit. I need a bit of a lift. Thought we'd cracked it after Port Vale game.

Agree with this (and the majority of Wycombe fans commenting) and to add the ref was fairly consistent all night allowing bits of contact to go, some much stronger than that.

Every time I watch it, I pml. Poor performance, but glad we won. Their
blatant gamesmanship, taking the p155, got what it deserved.
