I’m 50/50. Never seen York but found the place a tourist rip off. Been to Wigan fc and had a good time so good memories of there. BTW who were the first club to beat Wigan after winning the FA Cup?
Freezing fog could be a problem. I’m sure the ref will only call it off if there’s no option. Hope they get through anyway. It’s very close to where I live but I’m staying warm with BBC2
I had a couple of days in York with the family when I was back in October. The weather was atrocious, with the river rising a couple of metres overnight. I've got the hazy / foggy / misty coverage on ESPN+, and just enjoyed some very choice chanting by the fans.
Yer can go to York and walk the walls for free, walk down the side of the river for free,Railway museum free, wonderful City but like anywhere else you have to pay for most things. I will say one thing though Saturday night in an hotel is 3 times dearer then Sunday, now that is a rip off.
That's the same anywhere. Folk want to go out on a Saturday and stay over, they don't on a Sunday. Beauty of being an old(ish) fart, retired wi no work on a Monday.......you can take advantage of bargains like this.
So it’s -4 at York tonight. Maybe time to start to call for summer football. No real comfort sitting freezing in nights like these.
It was cold on Tuesday against Wycombe, I've often said you wouldn't sit out in the garden in this weather lol.
I’ve had a York address for the past four months and it really is an expensive city for parking, shopping and entering any of the tourist attractions although there are free things, as mentioned above. It’s almost London prices for most things and is overrun with tourists at the moment due to the large Christmas market which runs until 22 Dec. I had a look at it yesterday and they are asking ridiculous prices for most things. Nice to look at but I didn’t buy anything.
Absolutely love York, we always manage to go for a couple of nights 4 or 5 times a year. We’re in the lucky position where the mrs gets Sunday to Tuesday off so the hotel prices are a lot cheaper.
