For giving some back to the fans!! After being asked the same questions Christ knows how many times!!! As for the the guy who kept trying to insinuate that she’s trying to make the club American………‘well I’m actually Australian’ great put down!!
Yeah well done for putting up with all that. So much negativity. Maybe that’s to be expected. But some of the questions were nonsense and the way they were asked made me cringe
I sunk in my chair a few times, she’s very clearly passionate about the club. I’ll say it again but imo ‘some’ of our fans have an issue with the origins of some of the board members and I’ll not change my stance on that
Some of the stuff I’ve read in Twitter about her is disgusting. Telling her to f’ck off back to USA. I think challenging the audience was a bit clumsy, but they were on the spot the whole time. She’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but certainly doesn’t deserve the animosity she’s getting. I for one am grateful that she’s putting her own money in to support our club. It’s absolutely right to challenge the board and management, but the vitriol is un called for. I thought Neerav did pretty well tbh.
As Barnsley fan (born and bred), who is also Australian, and who lives in the USA, I don't know why people have an issue with JAQ.
She is clearly very passionate in her ownership of our club and it shows and there were a few things last night that highlighted just how involved they are and at times last night she came across more of a fan than a business person. They won’t get everything right, no one will and both admitted that last night on multiple occasions as for pushing back with what would you do, I think she was actually highlighting it’s not as easy as some of us think and the fact on every occasion I saw no one come back with a viable option shows that. The main difference between the two board members is Neerav is clearly a clever measured communicator and uses those strengths well, she uses her enthusiastic energy to communicate which makes them a good partnership. I’d also wager if a friend asked them privately she would say she loves the engagements but Neerav would see them as a negative experience and dubious of the benefit of his time.
Neerav is a class act. Hope he doesn't get fed up and bugger off. I like JAQ, too. She clearly cares. Some of our fans are moronic.
Some right, proper, hardcore divvies in that room. But i'm not sure what purpose is served by a panel member asking a divvy to explain what they'd do in that situation, other than making one of the divvies look even more like a divvy. And we all already knew they were a divvy anyway, it's self-apparent from the divvy-esque nature of the question. We want insight and context, not easy bullying of the thickest kid in the class. Having said all that, i'm told that she's received loads of grief on idiots social media so you can certainly understand it.
She did well with Captain America, who wants the main shirt sponsor to be "Pats for Pants", the shirts to be distributed by Blackford Sports in't arcade and the West Stand to be sponsored by Percy's Pork Pies.
If it was the guy on the far left as you looked at the stage, he was monitoring the YouTube feed for the club.
I think to continue with these meetings, we need more structure and vet most of the questions. Like a few have stated I was embarrassed by some of the questions. If our board read this forum, please understand that, not all of us want to ask stupid questions. I applaud the idea that they have come out to speak to the fans and like all business owners they should be answerable with their decisions (not all) to their income base (us).
But then you'll have the usual suspects saying its tailored to soft questions asked by happy clappers and board apologists.
I’d imagine the purpose was not to ask the individual but to the room and all the rest watching to emphasise the point of it’s easy to criticise etc. She hit the nail on the head last night with her comment about us as fans hurting but imagine what it’s like for them, they hurt and it costs them money each time. I’d also ask if it’s OK for me to publicly criticise them surely they are entitled to respond in kind. She’s clearly a positive person, people have given her pelters for asking people on Twitter to try to use their energies positively.
Very true...I thought but it has to be better than what we have. I love the idea they come and talk and answer questions.....but I dunno maybe the people who vet, could be chosen by others on here or the supporters club....you are right though whatever, there will be moaners.
I think there is some, albeit limited, value in these idiots being given a mic. They walk among us, and tbf in the main they just embarrass themselves. The Board will know they don’t represent the majority. IMO censorship is the very last resort. There’s value in the stupid things some people say - and the response they get - being there for others to see. Bit like this place I guess. However, I do think some facilitation would be helpful. Someone strong, managing the questions. Cutting idiots off at the knees where required, like Captain America.
I've just watched it and I 100% agree with you. They both bring positivity and hope (and money too) into a club which needs exactly that. I cannot understand the constant negativity and moaning. Without those two we would not have a football club. I do slightly disagree with you re some of our fans being moronic....they are in fact MORONIC!! - to the point of total embarrassment. And to all those giving JAQ disgusting texts on Twitter, please stop. it achieves nothing.
