My original point wasn't so much that he's currently kept out of the squad because if a premier league loanee, it was more that if he was one he'd be playing. We give so much game time to other teams players to develop them but for some reason won't do the same for ours unless they're a defender. I can only assume it's contractual

Its the players that anger me the most, the over rated Styles especially. Yeah Collins picks them and coaches them (well, we're led to believe he does), but they still look like they aren't interested and don't want to put the effort in for some reason. And that's very worrying. And it goes back to before Collins was here, he's not the real problem!.
Guess we're concentrating on the league then. Gods, this season is depressing. There's just something about it which doesn't feel right.

We need a new midfield aswell. Styles and kane might aswell gone to pleasure Beach for influence they had.
If we don’t get promotion then this will be the worst season that we have had in a long time, out of all the cups at the pretty much the first stage. I don’t think we were this bad when we came down with Wilson in charge for his 2nd spell and finished 11th.
I get why we're trying to play Styles, to maximise his profit as he's obviously wanting to go, but he's just putting in nowhere near the effort he used to. Doesn't go in for tackles, doesn't even attempt to challenge in the air, jogs back aimlessly. Our midfield is very limited when Connell isn't in there.
He's probably good at following Collins instructions just like the rest of our players that are getting ruined.
That makes more sense. I'm still not convinced from what I've seen of him in his cameos though that he's ready. But I don't think it's the front line that's necessarily the problem. McAtee and Cosgrove got a lot of the ball in the first half, created chances themselves and generally looked a nuisance. In the second half, the supply line to the forwards dried up completely after the chance Watters had. Styles and Kane were dreadful, and Phillips went missing. I don't think that's fixed by an 18 year old up front. Clearly we missed Connell tonight.
Football was probably on par with Wilson number 2. But we didn't win away for nearly 4 months before he was sacked. Collins has his work cut out to break that record.
I'd be more concerned about the midfield behind them. Harry Kane would look gash with that supply line.
