Don’t want them to get injured before the new year sales

Not surprised tbh. Last season at Port vale. Whilst us fans were watching Cole running up and down the touchline giving us hope of an attempt at a comeback. To come on as sub. Duff in his wisdom did not bring him on. And had the audacity to say at the next fans meeting. He'd basically took him for the bus ride. And no intention at any stage of the game, of bringing him on, not risking him to injury. Disgraceful to say the least. Why effin tek him then? We were 2-1 down. All the fans as I say anticipating him coming on.
At least I dont get the impression that'll happen tonight with those on the bench.

Save them for Reading. Particularly Luca who will still be nursing his way back.

Connell has played two full games since coming back think it's the right thing to give home the night off. We have options up front not sure if they have played together but it will be interesting see if Mcatee and Cosgrove suite each other.

Well the way Collins spoke last night i was optimistic but i don't believe a word he says anymore, he is either a liar or just doesn't have a clue. Last night someone said there was no plan B sorry i can't see a plan A

Maybe they are too important to get crocked in a tin pot cup that nobody cares about other than the Collins haters.

Bet you didn't call it a tin pot cup, when we won it

It wasn't a tinpot cup when we won it. Back then it was an extra opportunity for lower league players to get a chance to play at Wembley. The addition of prem u21 teams is what made it tinpot.

U21's have definitely devalued the competition, imagine 2 U21 teams getting to the final - again its all in the interests of the Prem clubs.

It is a tinpot cup that isn’t that vital - I’ll grant you.

However, we went out of the league cup with a whimper, got thrown out of the fa cup for not knowing our arse from our elbow, and this was the last competition we had outside the league. And they wanted to progress in it.

You can see from the team selected that it was Barnsley of the two sides taking it the most seriously. Our team was made up of many first team starters with only Connell, just back from injury, and Devante Cole rested. We put a team out that was much closer to our first eleven than blackpool did. You’d imagine at least seven or eight of the starting eleven will start at reading too.

Blackpool played in the main a reserve side. And we got turned over easily in the second half. First half wasn’t bad, though we were still a bit ponderous and ineffective. Second half was absolute dross. Against weakened opposition.

We have one more point after 18 games than we did last season - I’ve seen that said a lot. However last season we were just about to beat Peterborough, having already beaten Wednesday, Charlton and Shrewsbury - we haven’t beaten anybody of any quality this season, top half even - and last season the team was showing continuous improvement, and went on to a run of twelve games unbeaten, winning ten, from the back end of January.

This team has shown no signs of any improvement whatsoever - the opposite in fact. And an unbeaten run of twelve games, with ten wins, seems more like a pipe dream than even just unlikely.

There again how do the younger players from an FA league get allowed into a purely FFL competition
