Very strange take. Admittedly first half was very very poor, but second half we were the better team. To say we barely deserved a draw? Not sure what game you were watching.
I’m a massive critic of Collins and expected us to be woeful again. But this post is absolute cak John. It really is. We did deserve the three points. I’d have sacked Collins at half time. Same performance we see every week. Making a bottom two side (who’d still be in the relegation zone even without points deductions) look decent. However - I have to give credit where it is due. The second half, whilst still being far from perfect (something nobody has asked for or expects, or at least I don’t) was much more like it. Much, much better. Positivity, pace. Less shackled. The opposition might not have been the greatest but they went out and won the game in the second half, the opposition couldn’t handle them. It was a fully deserved win, and having been very critical of Collins for how we have played in the main this season, I have to offer praise for how they came out second half. It was very good, I thought. They also defended better, which again was great to see. I still wouldn’t cry if he left, don’t get me wrong, but the second half today was something I didn’t expect to see from a Collins team. Even if we hadn’t scored, and drew 1-1 - but performed in a broadly similar way, I’d afford the same praise. That’s what I have been wanting and thought he was incapable of providing. I won’t go as far as to say I’m wrong in that he isn’t the right man. Not with one good 45 minutes. But that’s a good start in proving me wrong. A very good start. Well done Neill. I sincerely hope you do prove me wrong, and we win every game between now and the window opening, and go on a great run with whatever the team looks like after the January window. I strongly suspect there will be some in and out.
The drivel on these Match day threads gets more insane each week lol. And theres some absolute corkers on here today!.
They were definitely NOT the better team over 90 minutes. They were the better team in the first half for sure but only just. Second half they were second best. Jalo was the difference.
No doubt it’s already been posted somewhere - 766 DAYS since we came from behind to win a game (according to RAO). That’s insane.
That's a crazy length of time to go without coming from behind. Hopefully it won't take as long next time.
It's a strange stat for sure, but what is often overlooked is that last season under Duff and this season under Collins we haven't gone behind that often. It's been disappointing that when we have it's usually ended in defeat, but we've had far fewer opportunities to win a game after going a goal behind than most other clubs (maybe all, I don't know, I haven't looked at the stats).
Also. Approximately 1000 days away from home. At Bournemouth March 2021 Winning 1-0. Losing 2-1. Won 3-2 And 3yrs after going behind 1-0. At Wendy's. Dec 2020. Won 2-1.
