Also not getting game time at Southampton, rumour is Everton are recalling him as they want him playing, which in turn suggests they still see some thing in him.
I agree he should be at his peak, he has however proven he can play in the PL, which suggests his fall from grace is down to application not ability.
Still not a bad career to date.

He'll be on the bench on Saturday ready to come on when needed - keeping him in the goals midweek is sensible.

Agreed, would seem a perfectly logical decision to me.

    £6 million - depending on appearences, 12% sell-on.

Big fee with large sell on and a 2 year loan back to us to continue his progression. Sounds fair to me. But it'll be £500 thousand in January cause he can leave for free in the summer. He could be a our biggest ever transfer if the board handle things with the clubs interests in mind as well as the players but they need to tie him down with a long contract now for that to happen and I'm not sure they've got the bottle or football intelligence to do that..

I'm not doubting the lads talent and the potential is huge, but he's not been playing and other clubs will factor this into their negotiations.
Absolutely yes, if we'd anything about us we'd stand firm and get a biggish fee but also I just don't see anyone paying over £1.5-£2m based on his league appearances, the sooner he starts games the more he'll be worth.

He’s not out of contract in the summer according to Doug at the Chron. Contracted until summer of 2025.

Aye I'd pretty much agree with that. Talk of £10m is fanciful. Perhaps in time, based on add-ons, like Stones, but up front we'll be looking at £1/2/3m max.

Unless he goes abroad and we end up with fook all.

He's a real big prospect, the biggest since Hirst. I don't count the centre backs, we've flogged plenty of those - you get the big money for the attacking players.

The level of acceptance on this thread that Jalo must soon be out of the door is astonishing. It seems the club hierarchy have conditioned the loyal fans into accepting that talent is not for keeping and the squad must necessarily be constantly weakened by sales. It's no longer a 'football' club, it's a nursery club at best, or a trading organisation. I still don't get why the owners have become involved only to operate it like this.

I think he’ll end up at Benfica or Sporting Lisbon. A player for their reserves and loaned out to somewhere. I hope it would be the making of him rather than him disappearing into some lower league crap. He must get jealous going into Portugal youth camps and seeing all his teammates play for big sides and then comes back to us to see Jordan Williams play centre half and Collins change his back three when we’re 2-1 up.

My point is, he’s playing with players who play for the big three clubs in Portugal….surely he’s gonna want a bit of that action.

Portugal's ****, they're probably wanting to play for a big club in England.

Its not the owners commenting though is it.It seems to have a go at the board for something one or two fans think might happen.
