I don’t think they will see it like that. I think like many fans they will see it as nicely poised and with slight changes in some results will kick on. Personally I think like last year it will come to who we sign in January.
People are talking as if you get 4 points for beating a top half team and 2 for beating a bottom half team. We're bang in the mix.
No but equally we are not losing both home and away to the others... I was though pointing out it was ridiculous to say you couldn't be in the top 10 unless you beat all the top 10...it doesn't matter where the wins come from.
If you're in the know it wouldn't do any harm to share it... otherwise it just looks like baseless speculation.
If we’re in the play off mix in January I’m happy. We’ve obviously got big issues with a lack of pace & height at the back & need to strengthen defensively & believe me every team in the league will know that with the data & footage available to them. It’s no surprise that the better sides in the division can take advantage of this more than the weaker ones. It’d be strange if it was the other way round.
I didn’t say you can’t be in the top ten if you don’t beat all of them. What I said is that we won’t finish top six if we don’t beat ANYONE in the top ten
I don't like the position of wing-back. At our level you either end up with full-backs who are defensively sound and can get forward a bit but are less able to get a decent cross in or wingers who can get forward, beat a defender but are suspect defensively. Yesterday down our right we got a lesson in this. In the first half I lost count of the number of times O'Keefe didn't pick up Blackett-Taylor and pulled Williams out of position to try and plug the gap. Collins didn't react by changing the formation and it was Blackett-Taylor, from a similar scenario, who got the equaliser in the second half.
Thought Blackett-Taylor was as good as anything I’ve seen in L1 this season. As said above Jordan couldn’t do his own job properly for covering O’Keefe.
100% agree ,was disappointed management couldn't see this. It was no surprise the equaliser came from a misstake on the right from O keefe he looked very lightweight and left Jordan on his own on too many occasions.
How do you know the management couldn't see it. What would you have done to change it? Both O'keefe and Cotter are not good for top half of this league. Both are positionally weak. Personally, I would persist with Lopata RCD, Mael CD and MCart LCD with Williams RWB until we can seek reinforcements.
He had a lot of options. Cotter for O'Keefe Lopata for O'Keefe and move Williams wide. Switch to a back 4 Move phillips wider allowing O'Keefe to maintain positioning easier. Put Russell on in midfield and played with two more defensive midfielders giving less room for them in our half. Put an extra defender n the bench in the first place. The fact that the manager admits we looked like conceding, and did, yet still kept lopata and cotter on the bench says to me that either hes completely written the two of them off or he hasnt got a clue how to manage a game. Either is worrying
Managers live and die by their results. It works both ways. If we were top 2 and flying, people would already be talking about how we might lose him in the Summer. Yes we’ve lost key players, but so does every team. This is a really poor quality League, and anything outside top 6 is a major failure IMO. We’ve got 4 games now until the window opens. If we’re still outside top 6 by then, I think the Club have a real decision to make as to whether they stick or twist. As has been pointed out many times by others, I’m yet to see a performance under him that we’ve dominated for 90 minutes.
