    Yes but I've always called it the paddock. The standing area under the west stand "posh" seats was called the terrace.

    Could it have been the case that if you stood under cover you were in the Brewery Stand but in the Paddock when not under cover because there was a walkway that separated the two bits.

    Does anyone know if there was an even earlier version of the Ponty?

    I saw a picture/drawing of the West Stand from the view point of the east side of the ponty, and there appeared to the decorative fascia of a low roof at the top of the image.
