The season we went up to the championship under Hecky, was the season (first half anyway) we won 4-0 at Wolves and 3-1 at Villa..
Wonder where those two teams are now?

That second half was one of the best I’ve seen a Barnsley team, we looked a really good team at the time who probably could’ve gone on to great things

He took over a side that had won 7 on spin and just reached the jpt final. 5 of the 1st team changed in the summer? We kept the side together apart from replacing Williams with Andy yiadom

Or he is a very good coach but not a manager.
He’s clearly shown give him the tools he can get good results but not so good at building teams from scratch.

I think when the chips are up he's good like when he took over us on a 7 spin winning run.

But he had good squad at Leeds the same side who reached the play offs bar 2 players and he had them in relegation form. Same with hibs a side who should be top 6 he had them bottom their fans were protesting to get shut of him.

Did well at Sheffield United with a very good squad for the championship but then this season has been embarrassing the amount of goals conceded and the fact the players stopped playing for him. No wilder has took over got them there 1st clean sheet of the season and made it more respectable I doubt they will stay up but they will beat derby's points total which was looking a danger under hecky.

Not doing bad tonight away at second in the league either. Wouldn't be winning with a clean sheet if Hecky was still there.

It's a very good point a few months back that fixture would have been a cricket score.

They won't change unless we attract another 10k fans or have a owner who is happy to lose millions every year.

Made me laugh when Connor went to villa and he was getting a reported 27k a week. Some folk on here were saying we should have matched it.. totally deluded we can't compete when we're in the championship were going to lose our players to bigger clubs always have always will.

Yes we did well we had the momentum behind us. We lost no players from promotion, we added Andy yiadom and Tom Bradshaw and a few loans. When we lost Connor and Sam winnall in the January window we still had a good side but we only won 3 games in the 2nd half of the season and dropped like a stone.

Ye but the worry is apart from old gimmers like me, who go no matter what, is will we keep the 10k we've got at present. if we finish mid table this time and sell Connell,Cole,Kane and Williams the 10k may go down and then we'll sell more players to make up the loss ....at least Conner was here for a while for us to enjoy now we've got Jalo who's hardly kicked a ball and values are already being bandied about...

Kane Cole and Williams deals all run out in the summer so it's likely they will leave same with cadden. Not much the club can do about players running contracts down. They have to think ahead and bring in replacements even before the players leave.
As for Connor yes he gave us 3 good seasons but every season he developed here. Jalo is 17 he's very highly rated clubs want him for his potential hes not going to move to a championship or Premier league club in January and walk into the 1st team similar to when we had holgate.

Don't think we'll bring any players in before some leave. Our squad is way too big for a L1 clubas it is. We have 'first teamers' that can't get into the 18. Plus 2 in Scotland and 1 at Gateshead on the books.
I think a trimming of the cloth will be very much on the cards rather than additions.
As for Jalo, he's not ready. But that wouldn't stop say a Wolves or a Forest having a bid and saying in his ear.. Come learn your trade with us for 5 grand a week..
