I think it's more some players don't want to be here than he's lost the dressing room. Kanes embarrassing interview said he wants out, Styles looks like he hasn't wanted to be here for a while but I can't see anyone coming close to the release fee. Cole will probably run his contract down although I don't agree with you he's lazy one of the few who actually presses the opposition but people think to press you have to chase the ball like a headless chicken.
Having a better season in goalscoring terms, I was one of the few who thought he was good last season and duff thought so too as he was rarely dropped and executed duffs press really well. he will score at this level but I think he will run his deal down and go in the summer.
See I can understand this - it's a different opinion than mine and i disagree with just about all of it, but that's not a problem. Outright lies are odd though.
Agreed. I don't understand why people would just make up that he's lost the dressing room. Criticise him for things you see but not for things you're guessing
Got to admit, I thought we were really poor yesterday but a lot I spoke to after the game in town were happy enough so maybe it’s me. Can’t really argue with our league position but the football has been largely dreadful. Peterborough away next Friday will tell us a lot about where we stand in terms of matching the top sides. A big test followed by a big January transfer window.
Some more nonsense been spouted on here. Kane’s not an athlete but he always tries. If you can’t see that you’re in no position to be calling a manager clueless. Even yesterday he took a shot to the face desperately trying to block it. He rarely misses a game either. When you play that often I’ll guarantee there’s plenty of occasions where he’s got little knocks & is playing through the pain barrier when others don’t. Also, just because a player hasn’t signed a new contract it doesn’t mean he wants to leave. There could be alsorts going off in the background. The club could be saying we can’t pay you the wages you’re on now if we stay in league one but if we go up we can. It could be a case of him saying I’ll prove I am worth what I want paying. Imagine been Kane, Williams, Cole, Cadden etc & the clubs telling you they can’t pay decent wages yet they’ve been paying Leya Iseka a fortune & the same with Oulare previously. As for the ‘lost the dressing room’ line - what a load of nonsense. No signs at all of that. No tantrums, no downing tools, nothing on social media. Give up with the silly conspiracy theories.
it’s not always about how pleasing the opposition is on the eye though. Can be more about how they press and spoil. As one of the smallest clubs in the division, they will be all about having a way of playing that gets the best out of what they’ve got.
Wycombe were the same. Once Ainsworth left it was allus going to be difficult. If Evan's leaves (Done a great job imo) I reckon Stevenage may go the same way if they lose a couple of players who are able to shine in league one. And be looked at by Championship clubs.
Spot on. We were very fortunate to get a 1-0 win there last season, and the previous visit we lost. Never allowed to get going.
So you seriously can't envisage us winning at Port Vale, when we've got one of the best away records in the league? Port Vale who are 15th, have won once at home since September, and who we've already beaten 7-0? None of that means we're guaranteed to win of course, but to say that you "can't see" us winning the match is plain daft.
Stevenage had a plan and played to the strength of their players. If your a Stevenage fan ya probably think plan "A" has worked ok up to just but I think we proved they have no plan "B".. It would be faiir to assume that if Collins did his homework he would be aware of what their plan would be and maybe adjust slightly to compensate, unfortunately our starting setup didn't and as a consequence we were overrun from the off and 0-1 down in no time. A wonder goal put us back in it and we grew into the task as the game went on. Cosgrove provided the necessary nuisance value, despite the Ref, as even the constant fouls given against him kept the ball up their end. Once we started passing and moving we looked the better side and deserved the win..my only criticism of Collins is why we didn't kick off more prepared for their all out attack style of play. interestingly one of our group is mates with a Stevenage fan who was in the away end, he txt at half time and said "We're not playing well but Barnsley look like a side who hope something will happen more than try to make something happen"...good assessment as once we started to make it happen we we're by far the best team.
They will feel they "owe" us one from the opening game. I feel more confident that we will win at Peterborough.
