I actively try to love this time of year, unfortunately it's become the fashionable thing for everyone i know to hate it. It was funny to be a Scrooge in 2004 - for about 5 minutes. Now it's just annoying
6th January - it keeps things bright and cosy for a bit longer - by 6th January, it already seems that bit lighter outside and Spring is just that big nearer!
Jan 6th in the UK. If we're in St Petersburg it stays up until the 12th. Last year we left St Petersburg on January 4th, so it was still up when we came back in April!
Raining? This global warming really is a thing. Shouldn't you be 6' deep in snow at this time of year?
12 days before and 12 days after seems about the right time. But i can understand why people put decs up at the beginning of December and take them down day after boxing day. It's entirely upto each household to decide.
Was half tempted to take the tree down today but have left it so far. Won’t be too long though, weekend at the latest. Personally, I always feel that once Boxing Day has gone, Christmas is done.
Still got a couple of presents left for George to open at mine. So leaving tree up in bedroom. Be cosy watching Steve and Maggie with fibre optic tree on.
We have them out 1st December or as near as possible, normally take them down just after new year depending when we can be ar5ed.
When I bought a Christmas tree, the bloke asked if I was going to put it up myself. I said no you weirdo, I'm going to put it up in the living room like everybody else does!.
Yeah a think your right tbh, what’s not to like, time off work spent with family and friends, loads of beer and food and football on tap
