I thought by his standard he was a bit lacklustre. Flashes of brilliance, but not as much industry as usual. Same goes for the majority of the team to be fair.
His story is brilliant. Made his debut for Stromgodset & Norway at age 15, youngest goalscorer in the Norwegian league, then moved to Real Madrid a year later, becoming the record youngest player for Real Madrid too. Because he was 15 when playing professionally, he wasn't allowed to be in any video games, so Football manager had to ask and get permission from his dad to be in the game. Phenomenal talent, technically especially. He's entering his peak now and you can tell, has the odd off-game but so do most. He shines anyway, but in this Man City side or the Barca side of 2010ish, he'd be even better, ala Iniesta, Xavi, Debruyne
Norway must have some right divs in the rest of the squad to have him and Haaland and still get nowhere near qualifying for anything
He looked like the black sheep of the Chuckle family who spent 5 years in Doncatraz because he thought someone looked at his missus in a Wetherspoons.
I think the problem with Norway is that him & Haaland seem to have the international football attitude that Ryan Giggs had. I think they were both missing for Norway in the last international break despite featuring for their clubs before & after.
The back four consists of the two blokes from Aha who aren't Morten Harket, Magnus Carlsen the chess player, and Morten Harket. And here ends my extensive knowledge of famous living Norwegians. Most of the dead ones don't get past the swear filter.
Ryerson is great, but behind them 3 probably Sander Berge is the next best player in that squad, so quite the drop off!
I follow a bit of Norwegian football (started in lockdown) and they should be better than they are. The National Team is being held back by a coach who's about 105 years old. They have Haaland and Ode obviously, then Elnayoussi who played at Southampton as well as a lad who plays at Roma to make up the front three. Then there's Berge as mentioned above - who plays alongside another bloke who plays for Lens in the middle. Defensively they have Ajer from Brentford with two full backs from Feyenoord and Rennes. Their under 21s are pretty strong, so I reckon they should qualify for the next tournament when they get rid of Norwegian Roy Hodgson.
