He should not get preferential treatment choose how much money he has .......I know people that have been burgled and distraught at not being able to replace what as been pinched......he will be able to replace at drop of the hat.
I agree, but for a robbery it's classed as a higher level of crime with a higher sentence when it's higher value goods taken.
Robbery is a higher level of crime but has nothing to do with the value. Robbery is basically stealing but using violence or a threat of violence then and there in order to steal. What elevates a burglary on someone like a footballer's house is the degree of organisation involved and that the persons concerned may have been prepared to use violence. If they had weapons then it elevates to aggravated burglary. Of course a cynic could conclude that Grealish has the means and leverage to kick off at a below par police response.
It doesn't change the fact that it's a horrendous invasion of privacy and makes you feel extremely vulnerable. The car we were driving got broken into when parked up in Sheffield a couple of years ago. It wasn't even our car, it was my mum's which I'd had to borrow for a couple of days. There was loads of reasonably expensive stuff in the car as we'd been sales shopping in Meadowhall, or things which it would have been catastrophic to lose, like our passports. But the genius thieves instead managed to nick two pairs of old winter shoes and an unused PCR test. The filthy tw@ts also left an apple core on the back seat, which actually bothered me far more than the shoes. Financially the break-in won't bother Jack Grealish in the slightest, but that doesn't mean it won't affect him in other ways. It's an extremely unpleasant thing to happen to anyone, no matter what their financial means.
I never said he was nice for him mate, just saying he should not get preferential treatment, the fact I mentioned he could replcace the goods is just that…a fact..theres also no denying he will get better looked after than the normal man in the street…..sorry about your incident btw
Jack seems one of the best people in football. He’s a really ally to people with disabilities and lives his best life. More power to him.
Robbery is horrible and leaves a nasty legacy. But I agree anyone being robbed is equal to Greslish being robbed and police response should mirror this.
Thanks mate. The worst thing was that it was our winter boots that got nicked in January and we were flying to Tallinn the next day. Imagine the fun I had in the slush and ice in a pair of Converse All-Stars!
Absolutely agree. Daft as a brush, but you can see how much he appreciates that he's living his dream. He seems to be absolutely brilliant with kids, especially those with disabilities and other disadvantages. He's done very well financially out of football make no mistake, but he puts a huge amount back in.
The criminals targettng sports people are organised and violent. If you read the ordeal Mark Cavendish and his family went through it makes sense that more resources are dedicated to catching these scumbags than your run of the mill smackhead.
Burglary is more than just replacing stuff of value that's been nicked. If you're insured anyone can do that. It's the sentimental stuff that can never be replaced that's tough and the sense of invasion, the emotional distress that affects you equally whether you're Joe Bloggs or Jack Grealish.
The gang could have been on the radar for a while ( organised crime) ? Probably more to it than the authorities are letting on, all robberies are vile but I don't think the Police have the capabilities to launch something on this scale for every robbery that happens, my young un got his bike nicked out of the shed, no helicopter put up, would I expect it, no, not for a bike but high valuable theft I would. Saying that I would expect a police visit within 24 hours rather than waiting 7 days
Again I don't disagree in theory, but would you expect the same response if someone steals a loaf of bread from Asda, compared to if someone steals a diamond necklace from a Jewellery store?
Jack Grealish played today….. not sure if all my family had been in this so called serious situation that I would have, or did it turn out not to be as serious?….just asking question
Yes. Both crimes leave trauma to those affected. It’s wrong to differentiate any crime making one worthy of investigation and another just disregarded. Only my opinion mate.
No but......the bloke who robs a jewellers probably ain't doing it to feed his habit. Supermarket thieves generally are and, hence are the first cog in a spiralling crime pyramid. But you try getting local plod to see that.
