He was rapid. I remember he was quicker than Lukaku when we played Everton. Probably would’ve lost a bit of pace now but still far quicker & better in the air than what we’ve got currently.

It's absolutely correct for you to have an opinion and express it on a message board.

It's also absolutely correct for folk to dismiss that opinion as poor at best.

I'd take him back we wouldn't need him to play it out from the back just pass it to mcart or de Gevigney. When we had pinnock and Liam lindsay. Lindsay would just pass to pinnock let him distribute same with Roberts and mawson.

We are a work in progress and that's it, there's some massive overactions at times, but nobody thinks **** me were not the finished article and we've lost once in a dozen games.
We weren't that great to watch under duff, and I gaurantee he didn't want to hang about knowing who was going in the summer, he couldn't wait to get out, so credit to Collins for putting more points on the board than Duff with a much weaker team.

I'm sure people base their views on managers personalities rather than coaching capabilities.
Yes Duff probably had more personality than Collins but I couldn't care less, its a results business and we're ticking along nicely.
Sort the back line out in Jan get Williams to RWB and its there for the taking.

We’ve got McCart & Lopata currently. Roberts was John Stones compared to them

He wasn't though was he. As much as I liked Roberts he was poor with the ball at his feet he was strong fast and great in the air which is what we need but he had mawson to take the ball out of defence same as lindsay had pinnock. But lindsay could play abit himself tbf.

In my humble opinion the Roberts boat has sailed and shouldn't come back. The Mowbray boat has barnacles on it. The Collins boat is still in the harbour being built and we still need to see the quality of the finished article when all sailors are finally on deck.

The Peterborough game shows me the players are with him. And that he can dare to attack.

If we can sort out our home form, maybe he deserves that chance. Although I wish the risky play at the back was scaled back a bit more like the last couple of games.

I'm still not won over, but he's going the right way at the moment.

And as per, we likely be flying at the end of the season, lose him and bang. Have to start again. Again.

I think he gets under rated on the ball. I thought he really stepped up when Mawson left & had improved a lot from the Roberts that first came from non-league

Did we ever score from one of his long throws? Always seemed wrong to me a centreback taking the throw ins.

He's played 8 times for brum this season a total of 438 minutes so not a regular I don't know if it would be a possibility to bring him back. I'm sure the club have already identified center half's they are interested in, if not they should have.

They’ve suffered a bit of an injury crisis at the back so he’s played recently but it’s obvious Rooney doesn’t fancy him and has decided he’s going to be the scapegoat. They will also strengthen in January apparently so he will almost certainly be available in one form or another.

Someone earlier in the thread said he would on over 30k a week at Brum but I can’t see that being the case and I didn’t get a reply when I questioned it.

1 competent centre half will do us. Rest of team is plenty good enough, hence my frustration.

There’s no way he’s on anywhere near that. I remember it was said he’d got a five year deal on a five figure contract when he left us.

My guess would be about 12k. They can’t pay 30k wages.

They're a basket case of a club remember - what we'd class as obscene wages are just chucked around all over.

Either way, we aren't affording anywhere near that - even on a loan.

Loved Roberts whilst here was here - a proper local lad done good story. Probably why some fans seem to resent him - some don't like Barnsley people moving on to better things for some reason.

Robbo is a red , wouldn't be a bad short term loan ,make him captain ,he still bosses it whenever I see him play for brum.
Good short term fix for both parties.

5 year contract on 20 grand a week after leaving us rubber stamped by the illiterate Harry Rednapp

Is there an argument that 11 v 11 Collins has out performed Duff after 20 odd games ? I'd say so, I don't think any team in this league is that pretty on the eye personally.
Young lads making individual errors is what's cost us games, if Collins had Duff's team from last year it wouldn't even be up for debate.
Let's cut the guy some slack and back him, I hope the board back him in Jan at the end of the day he can only work with what he's got.
