Collins needs a way to get his team playing at different tempos. We are often very flat and ponderous. At home we need to dictate the pace more and be far less passive.

Well on a plus side we did not lose and we are back in the top six. We now have a break, perhaps we can get into the transfer market.

It upto the owners now, they can see what we need. A centre back yes but we lack options on the bench up front. We signed Dallas who we loaned out, shaw who I don’t think we will see again Watters well and Cosgrove who can’t get a game and I haven’t been impressed with so far. At least they got the McAtee signing right, 1 out of 5 have paid off. Please sign some one to play up top on loan at least.

    That was dire.

Wigan to be fair to them missed 3 sitters as well so they were unlucky to have only scored the one goal.

We looked lethargic. My other half who hasn't seen a game since wembley came to the march today and she couldn't believe it. No urgency, no forward runs, looked very static.

Amazing how someone who has only seen 90 minutes of football this season can point out where we are going wrong but we seemingly can't fix it. Or don't want to.

absolutely baffling, Took off Phillips who was having a decent game, rather than Kane who wasn’t and replaces Macatee who has real talent and pace with Watters who has, err pass.
Can’t blame him for Jalo who needs game time and has real potential..
Plus we once again went back to playing at pedestrian pace rather than upping the tempo.
If that display doesn’t convince the powers that be that we need replacements nowt will.

Disappointed to draw. However, I can't begrudge Wigan their fair share of the spoils, even though the late equaliser makes it feel more like a defeat. We're back in the Play Off positions and still in with an opportunity of the Automatics, so it's barmy to feel too down.
We now have a bit of a rest and perhaps the odd incoming transfer to supplement the great news of Fabio Jalo signing a new contract.

I don’t know why we bring Styles on to play midfield, he’s proved countless times he ain’t up to it or committed and he is not going to risk injury now transfer window open imo. On plus side 8 points from 4 games over Xmas period is not to be sniffed at. We have a mountain to climb for automatic but if we steadily improve with defensive additions then I think we are a serious threat to go up via playoffs......

Max Watters must play a blinder in training, as in all his appearances I've seen nothing to merit a place.

Up front he runs alongside the opponent without making a challenge, the opposite of MacAtee who will slide in at speed or harry the defender closely.

His close control is not good enough, he fails to beat a man. I don't know what Neil Collins sees.

A sluggish performance today, where several were below par, and you could sense an equaliser was coming. We resorted to hoofing the ball aimlessly upfield under pressure, only to have Wigan come straight back at us.

Our build up first half was so slow, allowing Wigan to pull 10 men back, which then makes it hard to play through.

Very disappointing, especially after our display at Peterborough

In recent years the successful Head coaches/ Managers at Oakwell have taken the players they've been given and improved them, the unsuccessful ones haven't mostly because they didn't have the ability to. Collins I'm afraid is showing himself to be in the latter category alongside such luminaries as Arsebaggage, sloppy and the Portuguese bag carrier. The new players aren't improving and some of the existing ones have gone backwards under Collins.

just no urgency in our play today, we looked terrified of getting beat and were lucky to come away with a point. Wigan looked hungrier than us and if they had better strikers they would have had all 3 points.

Collins needs to figure out how to play at home and get the ball forward quicker. I’m not sure why we don’t play with 3 upfront anymore especially at home this packing the midfield out is alright away but we need some sort of attacking threat at home

That’s Wigan, Charlton and Stevenage who for me can argue they should have beaten us in this last month. We seriously lack proper pace and power in most areas but especially at the back.

If he hasn't improved the players signed in the summer or those already here what makes you think this windows signings (if there are any) will be different.

Playing for the 1-0 from half time - tactically pathetic when at home against a bang average opponent. I can see why we don’t beat teams above us- any half-decent side with some belief and the ability to put in the effort will beat that f@nny of a team. Only a couple of players look like they’re willing to put in the effort and one of those isn’t even our player in Mcatee.

Poor crowd for NYD with our form. People won't pay well over 20 quid to watch drab unentertaining Football.

    I’m not sure how.

He hasn’t improved one player in the squad, new or existing.

Good players have gone backwards under him. Watters looks worse than last season, and he was pretty crap last season.

Defenders who in fairness weren’t ready - or possibly good enough - have not been improved at all, in fact look worse, he was a professional centre back.

We’ve not played well at home since the first day and even then we might well have been two or three down before we started.

We’ve tried our best to give up a three goal lead at Port vale, given away a two goal lead at Peterborough. Invited a limited Wigan team to take what they wanted today by doing nothing at all second half and in the end being fortunate to get a point.

We still find ourselves in the top six. I honestly think a better managerial appointment would have had us challenging top two. We still could.

I’d change him. They won’t though.

A frustrating result, but it’s better than a loss I guess. A one goal lead is rarely enough for this team and the lack of clean sheets recently is worrying. It’s a game of two halves and they only seem to turn up for one.

Those 6 points dropped against Charlton, Peterborough, and Wigan today are the difference between competing for the top two and the playoffs.

Fingers crossed some new signings/loans in Jan will help.
