Due to our self inflicted FA cup exit. It would be the ideal time to bring in new players and start to work with them on the training ground to get them bedding into the squad. Surely knowing the break was coming the club have been pulling out all the stops to get deals done.and dusted or are we going to have the last minute panic on deadline day once again.
Totally agree. Was saying the exact same thing to the old man yesterday. Getting the required centre back in this week would be ideal as they would then have a week to get to know their role and players who will be alongside them. Should it happen? - yes. Will it happen? - doubt it.
Think we all accept agents have five weeks to get their best deal. And we have to wait our turn as transfers and loans trickle down the pyramid.
Ah, the old transfer window. That special time of year when fans lose their minds and think we suddenly have the signing power of Real Madrid.
It's all relative true we don't have the signing power of Real Madrid but we aren't trying to sign players in competition with Real Madrid are we.
Just thinking we may need two center backs...if McCart gets recalled by zRotherhsm. I wonder if we have factored this in and this is all taken care of.
I think Marc's point is, if we could go out on the first day of the transfer window and sign all the players we wanted to, we would. The reality is that it isn't that easy, which is why the majority of business done by every club in England this window will be done in the final week.
Yes that small time mentality the club wants the fans to have. How the club have so many people who just tip up their money for season tickets with how it's run beggars belief.
What if we hadn’t cocked up and then got knocked out in the next round by lowly Sutton Utd, would that have been classed as ‘self-inflicted FA cup exit’ I doubt many Transfer deals are as simple as us agreeing a fee with the club and then agreeing personal terms with the player/ agent. In an ideal world all our transfer business would be done and dusted asap, but often there are too many variables and it’s not just BFC is it?
People seem to forget players have a say in all this. Weighing up the options. That's why most deals are done in the last few hrs.
After the game yesterday I would have given the players the whole of this week off. They have played alot in the past couple of weeks and we don't have a match this weekend. Let them rest a little and next Monday is enough time to get ready for Brizzle game. Be interesting to know how much they are in for training this week.
